A KISS OF BETRAYAL

KJV- Luke 22:47-53: KJV:And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

The True Meaning of A Kiss?
A kiss is an outward show of love and affection.

A kiss is a sign of love, but in as much as it signifies love and affection, it can as well be misused.

We can see that in the life of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus with the same kiss meant for only love and affection.
It is very unfortunate that Judas, a man whose name was included in the apostolic registry decided to align himself with the hour and powers of darkness.

Jesus identified that it was an hour given to the likes of Judas to operate. What could have been going on in the mind of Judas as he approached to kiss Jesus -fulfilment or frustration?

Most times we abuse the use of a kiss. Behind Judas's outward show was a hidden agenda of betrayal.
Jesus was not deceived by this killer kiss. His question to Judas "Judas betrayest thou the son of man with a kiss" was a strong punch on the conscience of Judas-the man who loved coins more than Christ, his master who loved him.

Beware of an afflicted affection. Do not be a betrayer like Judas.
And for you brothers, do you have a Judas' kind of kiss for your wife? When you have other concubines in your life, how about you sisters? Are you doing the same? Going about in secret with other men doing what is not proper and yet you pretend to be the best of lovers.

This word is for you!
Do not be a betrayer like Judas
