WAYSIDE DISCIPLES

Matt. 13:1-9- KJV:The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Discipleship is much more than fellowship meetings and membership. Different people who follow a man do so for different reasons.
There are fair weather followers. There are through thick and thin followers of Jesus.

Jesus had wayside disciples who will not like to go as close to him as to know where he dwells (John 1:35-39). Relationship cannot grow and develop at the wayside. In fact nothing that grows by the wayside is well nurtured and cared for.

The wayside is the distracting side, not a place of deep meditation and communion. There is a wicked one on the wayside. The best food one can get on the wayside is fast-food Nothing else! Mary who used to sit at the feet of Jesus was not a wayside disciple(Luke 10:38-48).

You cannot be aligned to only thing that is needful from the wayside. A wayside believer is a wayward believer. Are you a wayward or worthy disciple of Jesus?

Are you a wayside student of the bible, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth(1 Tim.3:7)?
Why not draw nearer to God now and become his worthy disciple.
