THE RELEVANCE OF A DECENTRALIZED JUDICIAL SYSTEM TO STEEM AND MY DESIGN FOR STEEMCOURT - The first Court of Cryptography

in #steemcourt6 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians and my humble greetings to Steemchurch:

To our able leader -@SirKnight (the Lord Of Steem)

To her Apostles -@owoblow-steemit, @jaff8, @tikhub, @abiye, @darlenys01... etc

To her beautiful parishioners

And to her extensions @Sc-v, Sc-g, @Sc-n, @farms... and most especially to @STEEMCOURT whom I have come to visit with my little contribution.

To fulfill my promise in my introductory post, I've come to present my design as a way of serving the community. Meanwhile, for those who haven't yet known and would love to know about the Steemcourt, I'll do a brief re-introduction.

THE COURT

Let us first understand how the normal Court works offline before putting into consideration, its relevance on the blockchain.

With respect to the Federal Government, there are three Arms of government:

  • The Executive Government - this arm of government enforces the law made by the government. The President administers this branch.

  • The Legislative - this organ of government primarily deals with the making or formation of laws. The Senate and House of Representatives fall under this category.

  • The Judicial - The Judiciary is the arm or organ or branch of government which interprets the law. They administer justice to the law. It comprises of the Supreme Court and lower Courts).

The judiciary is the last hope of the common man as it is solely based on impartiality.

THE COURT applies the law and punish offenders (those who break the law) according to the constitution.

A Court is a governmental institution vested with the power to adjudicate legal disputes between parties and administer justice.

This vested power is called Jurisdiction, that is, the power to make decisions by itself. The Supreme court is the highest order.

It constitutes a minimum of three parties:

  1. The plaintiff - who tables the complaints

  2. The Reus or Defendant - called upon to make satisfaction for it,

  3. The Judex or Judicial power - who examines the truth

As a means of dispute resolution, the rights of the accused include the right to present a defense before a court.

The SYMBOLS of the Judiciary (alternatively, the court) are:

  • Lady Justice - a woman blind folded having a scale and a sword on each hands. The blind fold symbolizes impartiality and neutrality.

  • The SCALE OF JUSTICE symbolizes the strength of the cases and the support & opposition.

  • The DOUBLE EDGED SWORD represents the power of justice and reason.

  • The GAVEL is has the hammer-like shape. It is used to formalize a decision taken, to bring order to a rowdy session etc

Note: Once a judge uses a gavel after his verdict, such a decision is irrevocable except when challenged by a higher court.

STEEMCOURT - BRINGING LAW AND ORDER TO THE BLOCKCHAIN

Steemcourt main design.jpg

The Steem Marshall of the great Steem Walls; the Wielder of the Mighty Sword Excalibur - @Sirknight himself, the founder of @Steemchurch, on the Second of June 2018, commissioned @Steemcourt - the first Court of Cryptography and Steem; the first ever court on the blockchain.

MISSION AND VISION

As stated by Sirknight, the Steemcourt will provide a means for legally enforceable agreements on the blockchain.

I quote him:

For many moons this Knight has been contemplating the use of the Steem blockchain as an ecosystem for trade and commerce. What was lacking however was a mechanism for contractual dispute resolution; yet demand for such a service was relatively unknown.

I want to use this opportinity to congratulate @hboi the Chief Justice, a very trustworthy and transparent individual.

Just as Sirknight said, @Hboi is:

Humble yet outspoken; merciful yet forceful; tough yet fair; impartial and objective and he will blindly ensure that the scales of justice remain balanced.

To know more about STEEMCOURT and other STEEMCHURCH activities, kindly do well to follow their accounts and Sirknight's blog.

Now, let the drum roll as I introduce my logo design...

PROCEDURAL STEPS FOR THE DESIGN STAGES

STEP 1

Two semicircles were created and positioned in opposite to each other to form the S shape representing Steem.

1.jpg

STEP 2

The two edges were curved.

2.jpg

Using Corel draw app, version 2007

STEP 3

The two shapes were merged and a circle was cut out from them. The "C-shape" was then formed, representing COURT.

Using Corel draw app, version 2007

STEP 4

The GAVEL was carefully designed as well as the SCALE OF JUSTICE including the outer curve connecting the edges of the lower semicircle.

STEP 5

A circle was placed partially into the upper semicircle by using the powerclip tool on coreldraw sofware.

STEP 6

Now the logo is almost done, color application was the next stage.

Using Photoshop app, version Cs6

STEP 7

Finally, a dark gradient was made at the bottom of the lower semicircle.

THE SECOND LOGO DESIGN PRESENTED IN BLUE COLOUR
7.jpg

SIGNIFICANCE OF BLUE COLOR:

Blue represents the sky and stands for freedom, imagination, stability and sensitivity. It also signifies loyalty, sincerity, wisdom and trust. These are the characteristics of Steemcourt

THE DESIGN RATIONALE

The alphabets S and C represents the initials of the compound word "SteemCourt".

The slightly transparent part of the upper semicircle represents Steemcourt bringing a jury legal system for punishing criminal acts on the blockchain; these criminal acts are most of the times plagiarism related.

The gavel represents the view of justice from the people's eyes, that is, justice dispensation from the peoples perspective.

The usage of the front view of the Gavel is symbolic. It signifies respect for the voices of the masses, that is, Steemchurch parishioners as the jury. Hence, we will enjoy the dividends of democratic governance.

The scale of justice represents the balance between fairness and truth in reality.

The question is how does 'The scale of justice' relate to us steemians?

Here it actually represents the balance between Original and Quality articles on steemit, where there have to be a balance between quality and originality.

The dark gradient at the bottom right corner of the logo represents the effects of plagiarized articles on the value of the platform thereby reducing the global value and respect of the community.

The SPACE between the curved line and the C- shaped element represents the medium in which proper dispensation of justice can be maneuvered by those found guilty of plagiarism.

This medium can be rewording of articles which are not originally theirs and using copyrighted books without the permission of the author.

NOTE: PLAGIARISM IS A GREAT OFFENSE AND IS EXTREMELY FROWNED AT

Anticipate the STEEMCOURT CONSTITUTION TOO - a guide for Steemchurch parishioners where...

AS A VOLUNTEER

I will keep supporting Steemcourt in the best way I can. I volunteer to organize tutorial services and educative posts about steem like:

  • Using free stock images

  • Sourcing images properly

  • Referencing contents

  • Usage of tags... etc.

So that we will follow the Steemit rule or curie standard.

This is my pledge!

Thanks to our lovely leader @SirKnight
And then to to the Chief Justice, @Hboi, more power to your elbow!

To our very own, supportive and eccentric who have come to the blockchain in search of Steem - @SNIFFNSCURRY - I warmly express my profound gratitude. Steemcourt is there to best achieve this goal according to her mission.

Well explained article and logo design, the court recognize this selfless service and will suggest that you bring this service not just for the parishioners but also non-parishioners because these defaults isn't just on parishioners alone.

STEEMCOURT - LIBERTY IN THE CRUSADE FOR FREEDOM.

Wow, it's such a privilege.

I'm grateful for the comment too.

I'll ensure that I do just as you have said.

GraceHills

I must confess that this work is of immense quality

I am sure the court will appreciate this

Thanks for the time

I'm really grateful that you appreciate this work and the hours ir time it took me to come up with this.

Meanwhile, this is just the beginning of goodness!

Steemchurch has helped me in innumerable ways, I must confess.

What then is the best way I can reciprocate this act of goodness?

It's a beautiful breakdown, the fact that you simplified the agenda, the purposes and the visions of the steemcourt is really amazing, I mean many parishioners are just getting to know about the court and it will be relevant that they basically see this
You have a beautiful logo for the court, maybe it's high time we start seeing the amazing logos, I love the fact that you detailed it, explaining the process.

Thank you, it's awesome, long live steemchurch,

Awwn, thanks a bunch Josediccus. I feel encouraged to do more by these kind words.

I'm willing to serve this community which has really helped me. I'll keep creating quality to promote our church. I'm presently working on : -

THE CONSTITUTION

It's such a great privilege being a parishioner.

God bless Sirknight!

Wow!

Nice one bro. What an exceptional quality from you!

Thanks for the content, telling us about how a court works offline and online

Good designs you got bro, with the rationale behind it and stages well explained.

Kudos!

You're welcome once again bro.
I guess that was an error.

Hehehe...

Thanks bro. I'm happy for that.

We are all born with an eccentric quality, unique and distinct!

Thanks for coming around.

Meanwhile, here is my humble question in regards to the contribution.

I think you should discuss with the Chief of Justice, @Hboi on how you intend to educate steemchurch parishioners through Steem tutorials.

How often do you intend to organize this session?

Will it only apply to Steemchurch parishioners?

This is a selfless service coming from you. I see a lot of people violating steemit rules, not sourcing images properly, using wrong tags etc.

We'll really appreciate if @steemcourt approves this genuine idea from you.

Upvoted and Resteemed

Indeed, that first half of your comment has been put into consideration.

I'm hopeful that @Steemcourt through @Hboi will approve my contribution to enlighten Steemchurch parishioners must especially the newbies.

If granted this opportunity, I will serve in my smallest capacity.

@Gsaint

The decision of how often I intend to organize this session is not within my jurisdiction.

Will it only apply to Steemchurch parishioners?
No! But the target is for the newbies too. To enlighten them on how steemit works.

How will someone just post twenty words and use Steemchurch tag?

Steemit rules frown at such action! - It's an abuse of tag. Or one who talked about "animals" will end up using "crypto tags"

Thanks for your kind words and resteem.
