The color green is the color of nature and the quintessence of nature. Everything healthy and natural is associated with it and that is precisely why it is used as a symbol of nature from the perspective of civilization. This is manifested in expressions such as green lung or green spaces that we use to refer to healthy and natural areas that exist within cities.
With the adjective green you can give a natural brushstroke to almost any activity: a green cosmetic suggests that it uses natural ingredients, and a green medicine is the one that aims to cure only with products of natural origin. Ecologists in general are called green and the international organization Greenpeace has also chosen the word and the green color to represent them.
Green is also the symbol of life in a broad sense, that is, not only in what refers to the human being, but also to everything that grows and develops. It is even a lifestyle, an ideology based on environmental awareness and love of nature in rejection of a technology-dominated society.
Green is fresh and opposes withered, arid or dying. Green wood is freshly cut and still wet wood. In England there is a 'green meat' that is not a green meat but a fresh meat, and a 'green machine' is a machine that has just left the factory. The healthy and fresh is green and in this sense a green in German is also a vegetarian and an Englishman who feels in top form is 'in the green'.
