In Krakow, all roads lead to the Market Square. Everything starts and ends here. ( more places to visit, music, poem, photos )

Hello Monday,

Hello my Dear Steemers,

Kraków is provincial

Do not get me wrong at all - it's about the positive side of it.

Krak's stronghold is in the heart of every Pole.

Kraków has retained a provincial, demented character in many places - you can ask native Cracovians.

They will be happy to tell you about it. For them, Krakow is a story to tell everyone who wants to listen. It gives them great joy and pride in their city.

They will certainly tell you about the place in Podgórze, they will tell you that it is worth going on a trip to the abandoned forts around the city, it is the time of the old Galician worlds with contemporary outposts from the city. Old, small-town buildings are in the end close to the Jura (Prądnik), agricultural, plowed landscape (Kocmyrzów), or suburban villages, unfortunately increasingly filled up by closed housing estates and residences under the sign of bars and monitoring.

Podgórze
Abandoned forts

Podgórze is a district of Kraków, situated on the right bank of the Vistula River.

Prądnik
Kocmyrzów

Prądnik is a river running through the Kraków-Częstochowa

Kocmyrzów is a village

In Kraków, all roads lead to the Market Square. Everything starts and ends here.

A cantata composed on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the location of the city of Kraków under the Magdeburg law. The premiere performance of the cantata took place on June 1, 2007 at the Main Market Square in Kraków.

"Nad bukiet maków - Ty i Kraków" Michał Gasz & Zosia Nowakowska - rok 2007

Nad Wieżą Ratuszową
Zmierz granatowosiwy,
Pierzaste końskie grzywy
I smok z kogucią głową.

Zmierzch gwiazdą gardło dławi
I cisną coraz mocniej,
Kiedy w połowie Grodzkiej
Twój cień się nagle zjawił.

Nad malwy, bzy, nad bukiet maków -

  • ty, mój najmilszy, i mój Kraków.

Strażak w kaszkiecie złotym
Strażacką trąbkę niańczy,
Gołębie ucząc tańczyć
Kadryla i fokstrota.

Trębacz się zarumienił,
Hejnał w pół nuty kończąc,
Gdy dojrzał, jak się plączą
Ze sobą nasze cienie.

Nad malwy, bzy...

Kłębiące się nad Rynkiem
Pochmurne cztery smoki
Posępnym śledzą wzrokiem
Księżyca srebrny kinkiet.

Mrok między nas się wcisnął,
A księżyc, jak to księżyc,
Pół nocy aż zmitrężył,
Nim w oczach twych zabłysnął.

Nad malwy, bzy...

Above the Town Hall Tower
A silvery dark blue twilight,
Feathery horse manes
And a rooster-headed dragon.

A star at twilight chokes the throat
And squeezes ever harder,
When in the middle of Grodzka Street
Your shadow suddenly appeared.

More than the mallows, the lilacs, and the bouquet of poppies -

  • you are, my dearest, and my Krakow.

A fireman in a golden casque
Nurses a fireman's trumpet,
Teaching pigeons to dance
A quadrille and a foxtrot.

The trumpeter blushed,
Bugle call ending at half-note,
When he saw, how entwined
With each our shadows are.

More than the mallows, the lilacs...

Billowing over the Market
Four cloudy dragons
Gloomy-eyed they follow
The moon's silver lantern.

The darkness squeezed in between us
And the moon, as always,
Toiled for half the night,
Until it shone in your eyes.

More than the mallows, the lilacs...

Another Kraków street, Grodzka Street, was included in the song.

Grodzka Street

To admire Kraków and literally the majestic old town, go to Grodzka, which leads from the Main Square to Wawel. It is a peculiar Kraków promenade, always full of tourists. Cracow carriages pass that way.

Below I present to you the recording found on you tube from Grodzka street

On the Grodzka Street in Kraków, many beautiful architectural monuments of various periods have been located, so it is worth going through it with your head raised.

There are two famous churches adjacent to each other - the huge church of St. Peter and Paul with the characteristic colonnade of Saints and the two-tower church of Saint. Andrzeja, lying on the Małopolska Romańska route.

These temples are surrounded by wonderful tenements, often concealing souvenir shops, atmospheric pubs and restaurants, and even hotels. Grodzka Street is led by the Royal Route leading from the St. Florian's Gate through the Wawel Market Square.

Kraków's thoughts, with a mug of hot coffee by @margaretwise

Kraków is a living legend

The bugle call is carried by the wind,
on the four sides of the World,
on the roofs,
to suddenly get stuck in the trees on smog.

On the royal road, the britzka tumbles,
on the market with the neighing of steeds came.
The cabman rode off the roadside,
at Mickiewicz a couple got off.

White lilies laid,
she thanked the poet for poems.
And on the corner a gypsy harmonica,
I feel sad for the brewery.

In the Wawel Chapel Poland rests,
Zygmunt's heart beats over the porch.
The bell for the heroes' appeal calls -
because the memory of their deeds lives forever.

In the city of artists, treasury culture,
in Alma Mater, you know your knowledge.
The night life is Krakow street,
Bohema is dancing in the pubs till the morning ...
