The Glowforge is a wireless 3D printer that can be programmed with a wide range of design programs that stores your 3D print designs and data in the cloud.
Make a magical variety of cool things with materials such as cardboard, paper, wood, acrylic, leather and more. While traditional 3D printers use additive manufacturing algorithms, the Glowforge uses the opposite method - subtractive manufacturing using laser light. It comes in 3 desktop versions with varying options.
Works with the Mac or PC and you can choose to print your creations from a stock catalog or from your own unique designs.
There may be a business opportunity for Glowforge owners to manufacture designs to order. This is a question that comes up frequently from students, entrepreneurs building prototypes and creative folks, who do not wish to buy, operate and maintain another device.
