When it comes to e-bikes the industry seems to add new names every month and the range of prices and performance is as wide as some of the trails one might think to take some of them on. There is though one name that it's around the industry for 20 years and it has been building some of the toughest and most famous electric bicycles the money can buy.

Optibike has been founded in 1998 and ever since is "rocking" trails for 20 years now. It's latest stunning e-bike is the new R15C Carbon Fiber Limited Edition that is ready to set some standards. Starting its description with the huge 1.5 kWh Li-ion battery (52V 29Ah) mounted on it we can say that it's not only 38% beefier and longer lasting than the one mounted on the previous model, the R15, but is also lighter.

Specs wise the above mentioned battery will power up the bike with 1650 watts of continuous power, 2,500W of peak power and 192 Nm (142 ft-lb) of torque. Plus it will last up to 75 miles of trailing having a top speed of 28 mp/h. All this goodness due partially to light weight carbon fiber which was used almost anywhere on the bike. Even the battery pack's case is made of carbon fiber.

When it comes to weight though it is not a feather when comparing it to normal bikes, but in its electric ones niche the bike is "less" than light and definitely a flagship. All that power is put down to the ground through 27.5″ wheels and 2.8 inch tires ready to roll on almost any trail or forest road.

Leaving the spicy details of the bike that make it a limited edition for the closing one should know that its carbon fiber frame comes with 60mm of suspension travel in front and 165mm on the rear, special e-bike Fox suspension, DT Swiss Rims, SRAM Code Brakes, Renthal Carbon Fiber handlebars and Rohloff Internal Gear Hub.

Finally, the price is $13,900 and it's not cheap at all, but not too expensive either for an e-bike fanatic that knows what an Optibike is, but wants to see for himself what's new on the R15C and how long can he wheelie on it.
