A lot of our devices contain precious metals (gold, silver, platinum..)

The gold content in industrial waste is up to a thousand times greater than ores in the world’s best gold mines..
source

As the name suggest the BioXtractor helps to extract those valuable materials so that they could be used again for our high tech devices thus helping us to eliminate the need to get them form the Earth's resources again (circular economy).

This happens quite efficiently with the help of microorganisms (bacteria) which can extract those valuable metals

...with yield rates up to 100% depending on the source material and metal
source

Important

The technology has been successfully transferred from lab to pilot scale

Lovely concept to remove some of the materials that would have constituted pollutants to the environment. Not only that, they make it useful as well.

Electronic waste is increasingly being wasted every day, extracting materials for making electronic goods to be reused is really a good idea.

Guess what, in my country, there are some people who collect gold from electronic waste, and they get a fair amount of money, something that is unimaginable.

agree, that's a good idea for business. I guess with that BioXtractor those people could boost their productivity and health conditions because the person below this comment also said that while getting those metals people "...get toxic poisoning removing the material from the circuit boards" )

agree, unfortunately third world countries are usually considered as a cheap man power. I guess we should spread the word about technologies like this to inform people that there're great alternatives )

Congratulations!
