Following are some recent items found by steemhunters that potentially deal with assistive technology devices or services. These are not endorsements. This is presented in this digest to show what is available and possible for people with disabilities. Also, by starting a regular digest it might hopefully encourage more steemhunters to keep the category of assistive technology devices and services in mind as they continue to hunt for more items in the future.

1. Displair: 3D Multi-Touch Air Screen Similar to Hologram

From what I can see about this product the motion sensors would probably be useful for individuals with tactile difficulties dealing with switch selection. If the displayed image can be increased or decreased using motion similar to swiping a finger on a smartphone screen this might also be useful for the visually impaired.

2. ZEROi: smart hat with bone condition technology

I am interested in finding out more about this device and how helpful it might be for certain types of hearing impairment since the function seems to bypass the eardrum. According to the Kickstarter project FAQ page:

"The principle of the bone conduction speaker is that the sound is transmitted via vibration, so with a tighter fit the sound is transmitted better..."

3. PixoTest: EASY & SMART- Blood Glucose Monitoring System

Steemhunter:  @arvindkumar

According to a recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the year 2015 around 9.4 percent of the U.S. population has diabetes. According to the product description this is a meter-free blood glucose monitoring system utilizing smartphone technology. The best feature of this product is probably that it lets smartphones store the measurements for record keeping.

4. Hocoma Erigopro: An engineered product for patients rehabilitation

This product is designed with the goal of rehabilitating patients faster. According to the hocoma.com page for this device even acute care patients should be able to benefit.

Honorable Mentions:

These might not fall under assistive technology devices or services directly but they are worth taking note of:
