Useful for hikers, biologists, and for general interest.
When I've compared this app results to posted altitudes it has been very accurate
Limitations- this is accurate enough for recreational use, not for professional surveys or scientific study.

      Pros:

      • simple to use
      • can tell how many feet or meter above sea level my mobile device is

      Cons:
      having have one more app on my phone for only one purpose
