Open brain surgery is very risky, because brain is the main source of human body control. Drilling holes in the skull and stimulating the brain with electric current, carries the risk of serious side effects. Scientists in the medical world developed the Stentrode, opening a new trail to the brain, the first device that can provide current to the targeted area through a small keyhole incision in the neck.
The Stentrode, which is able to enter via a blood vessel instead, opens up a new avenue and a whole host to apply electrodes to the brain area and stimulates certain neurons.
