PirateBox is an open source DIY project for anyone seeking for offline secure communication and file sharing. Project goal is to use inexpensive hardware and achieve off the grid networking with efficiency.
Mostly in close physical range like work places, disaster areas, schools public places etc. we are forced to use internet connection for any kind of activity. But internet connection is vulnerable and easy to cut off. Depending on our devices power and radio range, we can built and use local networks capable of supporting private communication (with anonymity) and file sharing (media streaming etc.). It saves you from internet costs.
It has also an android app for mobile devices. Video for the App:
There are many other use cases for this wonderful open source project. Definitely worth to look closer.

This sounds great if you work on an office or share your work space with someone else. I work from home so I'm not sure if I could use this software. I'm going to investigate more and maybe I can use it to share files more easily with my wife and family.
Indeed I totally agree with you @eddiespino and yes its worth to look closer cause there are many different projects uses this open source software.
