Brio trains are one of the oldest and most popular toys for kids. Just like Bob the Train, Brio trains have been a staple in children’s bedrooms for decades.
After 60 years, Brio now also joined the Smart era with the newly introduced Brio Railway SmartTech Engine.
One of the most amazing elements of this new generation of smart Brio trains is that unlike many other recently introduced smart toys for children, the Brio trains turned smart without actually requiring a connected mobile device.
Instead Brio has launched a series of interactive NFC based components, like tunnels, overpasses and even a smart car wash station for trains.
It is still up to the child to actually do most interactions, completely without use of a mobile screen.
While starting priced between $30-$90 the new SmartTech Engine based railway components may seem expensive at first, Brio has a long track record of quality and longevity.
Train tracks are modular, and if this new series catches on - why wouldn’t it - there is no doubt that Brio will continue to extend its railway product line with always more elements.
Rejoicing thousands of kids all over the world with hours and hours of railway fun, all while their parents need not worry about the negative impact too much screentime can have on their children.
Brio’s impressive decision to “go smart” without “going screen-connected” makes this relaunched modernized classic an absolute winner in my book.
