Hunter's comment

Working as developers require the developers to see the history of a file from the project they are working on. Usually this task can be done using parameters such as diff in Git and others.

Git History a tool that will display the history of a file in a very interactive form, we can see who has contributed and see what they are doing, add or delete from a file.

What needs to be done is to replace github.com with github.githistory.xyz in the file you want to see.

For example I want to see a file

https://github.com/freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp/blob/master/package.json

then I will replace it to be like this

https://github.githistory.xyz/freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp/blob/master/package.json

githist.png
Then you will see a history of the file, good luck.

I am also using git as a developer. In fact, most developers use git these days. Because git's been a general trend for years. Because my company uses a private git server, it is not possible to use Git History at the company. But if I look at many open source projects using github through Git History, I think it will be fine enough. Thank you for hunting a good site.

I heard of diffs and it's pretty decent command that gives you the difference of two files. But getting along with all the difference over a period of time and getting the data is something difficult. Git history helping you with the file difference and that too in a very simple and easy manner makes it very appealing and a useful tool for the developers. Nice hunt mate. Cheers.

This is really helpful Hunt. I myself have Hunted many GitHub related Hunts. I have to say that this deserves to e ranked higher (and hopefully it will) It''s a simple but highly useful product that is easy to use. I'm not a programmer myself. I do know some basics and I tried the website for a while and I'm impressed. It's such a simple thing I wonder why GitHub didn't implement something like this on their own. This should be a real no brainer.

Maybe GitLab should try to make a similar feature to attract more customers.
