We all know different kind of cloud systems like dropbox, box, google drive, etc. Sometimes it does comes to your mind what happens with your data if these services are not accessable anymore.

One alternative is to buy a NAS and another one is to use a software to make your PC an accessible cloud server.

There are different system on the market and one of them have been introduced here

Seafile is an enterprise file hosting service but also available as Open Source community version.

Server is available for Linux and Windows (and Raspberry Pi) and Clients for different Desktop OS's and also for Android and iOS. A syncing client is also available for Mac and Windows.

Great hunt! Seafile is a nice platform for hosting and having a free open source version it can also be available for Raspberry Pi and Clients for different Desktop OS's and also for Android and iOS and Mac. This is a great and cool alternate of Cloud platforms like Google Drive and Dropbox. Great hunt you shared Good luck with your hunt

Just what you said came across my mind some months back. I was wondering what will happen if those cloud server where my stuff are been stored are no longer available, what will i have to do. That was just running through my mind but i have not answer to it. Thanks for this hunt as i have learnt a way i can use in getting such solved.

@jayplayco Cool hunt! This is really a good alternative to use esp for us who have our own server. And also this is open source. Great hunt.

A niche solution but the only downside is that you can run the Pro edition only on Linux. And if you can only manage with 3 users, then its free. And they seem to be quite flexible in providing trial licenses for higher no of users.

This cloud storage is excellent with the open source version. It is very important that it can be used on different operating systems. Good hunting.

Very good software solution for file storage. This product is open source and easy to use with a lot of features. Very good Hunt!

WAO a hunt from community manager, its a nice software

i would love to try this out.

It is a big plus that it also supports mobile devices which many services miss. Being open source and using encryption for the privacy of our data also main features which is very important for such a service. One of the most useful cloud service in my opinion. Great hunt!
