With normal hard disks it is easy to know if they are physically damaged. Such a drive can literally get stuck. With external storage such as USB, it is not always clear why they are no longer working. Sometimes reformatting helps to bring the USB back to life, but often not. If that does not work, there is still hope in the form of MalvaStyle USB Repair. This program tests a storage medium and then tries to bring it back to life. Whether that succeeds is of course not guaranteed, but throwing away is still possible.

    Its a good solution to recover usb sticks. Windows can not repair it self and its annoying. I throwed a few away but from today before I take an action I will try this one
