Exodus Privacy is an app that can analyze and detect the presence of trackers in Android applications, issuing a report detailing the permissions, list of trackers and network traffic of the applications downloaded to your mobile device.
What is a tracker? It is a software that controls all traffic of a computer that is connected to a network. The use of it has progressively extended in the development of applications.
In a joint investigation carried out by Yale Privacy Lab and Exodus Privacy, 44 trackers or infiltrated hidden trackers were detected in more than 250 applications of Android that register the activity of the users without authorization, among these are some of the most popular: Spotify and Twitter
The advantage of the Exodus Privacy application is that it offers a follow-up report to the analyzed applications, detects the presence of the tracker code in the files downloaded from APK format and disparates all the network traffic (HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, among others) generated by the mobile device and issues an alert when the application is being tracked.
