Hunter's comment

Harward University has developed a soft robotic sleeve which helps the heart in its beat.
This sleeve is customizable and it fits around the heart while doing open surgery.
This sleeve doesn't need an implant in the heart, it simply simulates the heart in its rhythm to pump the blood.
There is no need to penetrate heart to make its beat like the available technology which reduces the dangerous situation in heart surgery as well as strong medicines.
The softrobot fits around the heart and mimics the heart beat to have a better surgery environment, without any contact with blood.
Safe and risk free heart surgery can be done with the help of this soft robotic sleeve.

A great medical innovation indeed...
To be frank it feels strange to see the heart beating in real. A non invasive method to keep heart beating during open heart surgery:)

I am not a medical professional but i bet its a revolutionary tech... May be some doctor hunter can shed some light upon it.

This is must be an amazing technique for all doctors in heart surgery. It seems very useful in open heart surgery, I know that this is very dangerous work but this product robotic sleep may help out. Great innovation in medical science. Thumbs up!!

WOW! Soon and we will be able to have robot hearts as a transplant, reducing the need for donors. This product shows me, this will not be an illusion anymore! Super cool innovation, and super cool Hunt!

I'm late to the comment column on this post, but as a family physician I felt compelled to put in my thoughts. This is indeed a very interesting experimental device. Although the surgery to implant the device will almost certainly be an open thoracotomy, requiring a cardiothoracic surgeon to open the chest as with other open heart surgeries, the potential advantage of a durable device that can improve ventricular pumping function without implanting a pump inside the vasculature and requiring blood thinners and risking stroke is a major step forward.
The animal studies that are sure to follow should help determine how much irritation these devices cause on the outside of the heart, how durable the devices are and whether there unexpected complications with time of use.
I don't want to sound like a skeptic, but this device is far from ready for prime time, and has huge challenges to meet before being ready for use at scale in humans.
Still a cool hunt, allowing us to dream big.

This could be a great leap forward in the medical field. The open heart surgery could be entirely different with this innovation and thus the success rate could go up to great extent. Perfect hunt @sabari18.

ohh my god what a great thing i didn't knew we can even put a sleeve that will make heart pump i didn't knew we can even put something over heart wow what a great medical innovation i am so amazed to see that .so now there will be very less risk on open heart surgery May god save everyone from heart diseases but this will help out doctors aswell .
the best thing is it didn't required implant of heart .

This sleeve doesn't need an implant in the heart, it simply simulates the heart in its rhythm to pump the blood.

you have stated very nicely and precisely that it really increased our knowledge . i hope many people will learn and get good benefits from it .

great hunt friend keep on hunting 😊 upvoted 100% 😊

I’m gunna eat healthier after seeing that thing pumping a heart lol

hahahhahahaa 😂🤣 the fear of heart surgery now gone

the idea itself pleases me is an advance in medical engineering to simulate the heartbeat with a holster, but it would be better to implement the idea for an artificial heart since to open.
The thoracic box just to make the heart beat in a surgery seems to me to be something more risky and unnecessary.

All i can write is Wow!!!
Very good innovation. Me personaly i already saved a human life few times in my life and it felt good.
But the scientists who make this can save a life of many millions i think.
And to be honest so good to read about these kind of products because we can never know when we will be the one who will need this in the future.
Big like for this hunt!

We all know that heart is one of the most delicate organs in human body. While we hear or even witness many successful heart surgeries, there is always the risk of attack or failure during the operation specially if there is a need for implant.

While I am hesitant for anything left inside the body as that will alter the natural function of any organ, I trust science and technology for life betterment. With this robotic sleeve, it sounds promising to reduce heart failures. It advances medical technology and engineering to save more lives.
