''a remote-controlled four-armed, four-wheeled crawler robot designed to clear rubble and save lives in areas with complex terrain was unveiled at the Kikuchi plant in Minami-Soma Fukushima, previously a designated no-go zone during the nuclear disaster crisis.''

This Octopus robot is capable of clearing obstacles, removing fallen trees, clearing rubble and also capable of extinguishing fires. It can be equipped with a fiber laser which can cut hard objects such as stone etc.
To deal with radioactive materials the grappler can be used in Octopus.
Octopus will be very helpful rescue operations in the times of tsunamis, earthquakes, and fires. Octopus can be used in radioactive waste material management.
Octopus is one robot which we need in our time because we are facing a lot of natural disasters more often all over the world. Rescue operations with the help of Octopus-like robots will more efficient. Lifesaving will be much easier.
