Autonomously flying microbot. Robobee is manufactured to insect scale. Robobee can fly as well as can swim.
This small as a paper clip length and 80 milligrams microbot behave and think like real insects.
With the advanced technology in their wings, they can sense strong winds and can adopt the flying and landing as the real bees do.
All these are possible with the neuromorphic chips, which is different than the normal chips, the neuromorphic chip is working in electrical current spikes in different combinations.
This Robobee will work in groups, as per the scientists behind this project, they are saying that this autonomous microrobot can coordinate with each other and will work as a team.
Robobees can be used in
Crop pollination
Search and rescue missions
Surveillance
High-resolution weather, climate, and environmental monitoring.

It seems that this is one of the many future technologies that I saw in the movie but has now become a reality.
With its ability to not only fly but also swim, this little robot is truly a breakthrough. Impressive hunt.
This will be beneficial for large scale agriculture, I believe. But we need to see, how this is available to general public and what is the price, because unless its affordable, only institutions will be able to use it. Lets wait and see, when we see this product being sold in the market.
Nice - but we are so busy patting ourselves on our backs as to how quickly we are developing our technology, we are forgetting/ignoring just how much more important it is we save our bees from Monsanto.
