So far you have heard about Internet by radio waves, as Wi-Fi uses radio waves to transmit the data. This innovative and unique product is going to change that perception. Li-Fi is using visible light to transmit the data, and that too way faster than Wi-Fi. They are claiming to provide 10000 times more spectrum and 10 times more speed than the traditional Wi-Fi.
And most importantly its going to be free of electromagnetic waves and environment friendly. I am sure, you all must be knowing the side effects of electromagnetic waves, so this is going to save the humankind, when its used in large scale.

And they are already working with Airbus. So certainly we are going to see this product in public usage at every place.

This is super amazing LI-FI. 10x speed what we are getting from wifi simply by illumination, but my take in this if there is there is a sudden power outage ...

LiFi could transmit up to 100 Gbps and possibly higher, but this would require a change in lighting technology. Recent news report that LiFi is 100 times faster than WiFi. The assumption was that the average WiFi speeds are 10 Mbps, and that LiFi can be as fast as 1 Gbps.
According to the University of Edinburgh, light waves offer a 1,000 times greater spectrum for transmitting signals than electromagnetic waves. The German professor Harald Haas is conducting research into data transmission via light at the university.
Li-Fi is a bidirectional, high speed and fully networked wireless communication technology similar to Wi-Fi.
