Firefox Monitor is a nice little service from Mozilla.org. You can enter your email address there on the page and the service will then search the records of the hacked services to see if your email address appears there.
I have an old email address of mine which I don't use anymore, entered it for a test and the following result came out:
In such cases, you should log in to the service promptly and change the data, or even better, if you no longer need the service, delete the entire account.
You will also find the usual security precautions on the website:
- use strong passwords
- use a different password on each website
- Use Password Manager
- and activate 2-way authentication if possible.
Bottom line: a useful, free service that can save you a lot of trouble.

In der Tat ein recht netter Service bei dem der eine oder andere vielleicht nachdenklich wird, da er bereits Opfer eines Datenlecks wurde ohne es selbst bereits zu wissen.
Ok, plugins dont usually get my attention but this is very useful. I hope others realize that too.
I wish it worked in Chrome though.
Often people do not find out about the breeches or that their email, IP, etc. could have (or is) been abused and that can lead to reputation issues and frustrations that take a while to figure out.
This could help prevent a lot of frustration.

This is not a plugin or addon but a web service, it also works with Chrome, Opera and other browsers. I have tested it.
