If you are a fan of doing projects of your own at home then Line Following Robot is a great example for you.
The purpose of this project is to build a Line Follower Robot with PID control. We will also use an Android device to easily setup the main control parameters for better and fast tuning.
You can learn a lot about assembling, setting up controllers and using arduino programing.

I just remember that we have a project in our school which is line follower without using any programmable devices. As a first time to make those project it is really hard to finish those project as a lack of experience but thankfully we finish those project on time.
Love this one, even for kids, to learn more about the mechanics and engineering aspects of not only this but any project. As this one actually moves and functions I think it would be a rewarding project for young and old alike?!
This is surely a fun to do project with the children and teach them electronics at the first hand. While it might require a little bit of knowledge to assemble, put the controls and make it work with arduino, for sure it will raise some curiosity and intellectually challenge us to make it work. Nice learning hunt!
