Dozens of people were killed and wounded in a major fire at the main train station in central Cairo, a train collided with a sidewalk on Wednesday, according to preliminary information.

A massive fire broke out as the train collided with "Sadada Hadidiya" at the Ramses station, the central station in Cairo, to explode the fuel tank in the main locomotive.
Egyptian television said the incident killed 25 people and wounded more than 40.

The railway authority ordered the evacuation of the buildings of the Egyptian station in full, after the train stopped temporarily.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mustapha Medbouli arrived at the scene and pledged in a statement to reporters to investigate and hold those responsible for any negligence or negligence.
Photos posted on social networking sites showed smoke billowing from the station building on Ramses Square in central Cairo.

Other footage showed charred bodies on the railroad tracks.

Egypt has witnessed many bloody train accidents in recent decades, in which hundreds of people were killed and officials and observers attributed it to the feet of locomotives and vehicles and the negligence in maintaining and operating them.
