The head of the Egyptian Supreme Council for Antiquities, Mostafa Waziri, announced on Friday the discovery of a colorful cemetery for a man named "Tutu" in the mountainous Diabat region of Sohag governorate.

The Pharaonic tomb dates back to the Ptolemaic era and belongs to a man named Tutu who is likely to have been a priest and his wife, Ta Cherit Isis.

The cemetery is a hall and a burial chamber with two sarcophagi, and a fee for sacrifices that were offered to the cemetery owner.

The tomb was found in a good state of conservation, characterized by the beauty of its engravings and bright colors. The discovered artifacts contain many mummies, which number 50 mummies, some of them ibex, and many mice, "which were called" flies "and are small in size and have the ability to run at night.

The cemetery was excavated after a report to the Egyptian police indicated that thieves were trying to steal a cemetery in a mountainous area.
