The Accidental Whale Part 2 - Prequel

Mam better know where my passport is. She always hides it for safe keeping and then forgets where that safe place is. She’s a disaster. Steemfest is only few days. I won’t get that angry with her as she’s has granted me permission to go on the condition I ring her every day. Seems like a fair deal to me. Dad just does what mammy tells him so he is alright about it too.
I look back at the last 2 years and realise how lucky I’ve been to get to where I am. On the outside I’m still a spotty teenager but in the digital world I have power. Steempower.
I started out trading bitcoin 3 years ago when I was 13. I found 50 euro while I was out walking Raffles in the rain.
Raffles is old like nanny so I've to stop every few metres to let him catch up. We don’t even use a lead anymore. But that's when I saw it. On the ground near an ATM. 50 Euro. I only ever seen these on my birthday. I didn't tell anyone especially mammy as she would make me hand it in to the police so I ran in and lodged it in my bank account. By the time I came out Raffles had caught up. Good dog. Poor Raffles, not long left. I spent the rest of the walk thinking about what I should do with it.

My school teacher Mr Fenlon was always a bit weird and he was talking about some digital currency that was the future. He gave us a project to do on inventions in the future but I decided to delve deeper into this space money and maybe even own some. This would impress Mr Fenlon and he would give me an A+. I went home and found out that bitcoin was 600 bloody euro. It was just €450 last month. Wow. That's a big jump!! But I can't afford it. I didn’t think it would be that price.
Is there any more of these internet money for sale that I can afford. Bitcoin was way past my 50 euro limit. Let’s have a look. There was a currency on sale for 30 cent. It was called Ethereum. I liked the name. Sounds like they know what they are doing. I looked up their boss because I couldn't find a picture of the Japanese guy behind the Bitcoin one. Vitalik Buterin. Hahahaha. That guys last name starts with butt! He also looks like he came from another planet. This is him after his spaceship left him down to earth.

30 cent is a steal. I have another 50 euro that aunty Doris gave me for my holidays that I didn't spend. That's 100 euro. So I can buy around 330 of them . Great . I set up an account and also an ether wallet and stored my 330 ethereum in there. I outlined my findings in a presentation to Mr Fenlon and he was delighted with me. A+ like I planned. He even asked me to spell this new currency and where I found it. I liked the idea that I knew more than my teacher so I kept researching these strange coins.

By the end of the year my ethereum was worth €1000. Wow wee. Better not tell mam or dad or they will want it for my college fund. Any money I made from my paperround I bought up more currencies such as Lisk, Dash and Monero. Ethereum was doing so well it reached the newspaper and Mr Fenlon had a very happy face everyday and stopped caring about our homework. I took a photo of him.

Now I am 16 and my ethereum is worth more than a quarter of a million. My lisk was worth 100k and everyone is starting to get into crypto. I am way ahead of them. I now invest in ICOs because it is the cheapest time to buy a currency. My strategy is if I buy 3 , one will take off. So I bought Iota . An awful lot of Iota. More than the 100 Euro some of my followers say. It was around €10,000 worth. Iota then rocketed 3000%
and I became in theory a Bitcoin multi- millionaire. I sold fast and spread my portfolio into a few upcoming projects. Steem was one of them and I bought a 5 million Steem. Probably small change in their platform. Noone in the family knows
except Raffles. It makes it easier.

So if I am holding this currency I might as well try it out. I have read up about it and learnt that if I transfer the currency into a section of that currency called Steempower then I get to vote on posts and give those posts some money. Sounds cool. I love Facebook but the ‘likes’ on there are flung around willynillingly. At least with Steemit you have to put your money where your mouth is. I get it. The more I read the more I am confident on my investment. Also steem is after taking off and is already €2.
So I set up my account.I don’t want to use my name. It’s too Irish and I don’t want my parents finding out off someone’s mother.. I look over at the dog, Nah too petsy. Mr Fenlon has to be apart of the name and the 50 quid I had found to start me I bought. Ok 50Fenlon. But I couldn’t use a number to begin with. I also wanted to be a bit cooler. A bit more gangsta! This was crypto and I could be whatever I wanted to be. So @fiftyfenlonies became my Steemian tag. It takes a week to process but I use a little steem to force i through. I’m in. I have a reputation of 25 whatever that is. They say you should introduce yourself as a starter post. Ive nothing to write really. I’ve been in my room the last two years, having mammys dinners and watching porn. I can’t put that up! I lie and say I have a hot girlfriend and that I don’t have time to write a post as I am too busy with her.
30 minutes later I have received 4 upvotes. A nice lady called minx has upvoted me and commented “awww that’s sweet. Welcome to Steemit”. The post made 7 cent and 6 of those were from minx. We started chatting. I really like minx. A Kenyan guy Muhammad also commented.!He asked me for a photo of my girlfriend and asked me to follow him. I gladly accepted and followed him and then googled a photo of a Victoria secrets model and sent it to him on Discord.He replied with a wink emoji. He started giving me tips on how to get the most from my posts if I am a plankton. I loved these fish names. I asked him what fish are you if you own 5 million steem. He typed some laughing emojis. I had 3 followers that were real. Minx, Moe and a little Indian fella called Sandip who was funny. We built up quite a good relationship. He works in a call-centre in New Delhi.He always selfies me before a chat which I find funny. He knows this so he pulls faces.

One guy commented on my post and said it was the worst post he had seen and there was no way he was going to waste his SP on a stupid kid. He said leave Steemit to the big boys.

After a couple of weeks I decided that I was going to switch my steem to steem power. I transferred my balance from Bittrex and refreshed my blocktrades account . It’s gone in. 4,999,910 steem. Pesky commission.

My Ginabot immediately started beeping with new followers. It was a nice feeling having lots of followers. I see Sandip put up a post about a tradition Indian recipe on Busy. Getting in his post for a busy upvote. Sandip you cunning fox. The results of Sandips receipe was like the food Dad gave to Raffles but it might taste nice. He had very little SP but he is a loyal friend. I love being friends with people in different cultures. I gave him a full upvote . The button swirled and $1500 was added to Sandip’s post earnings. I was not expecting that to happen.
Minx had put up a post about knitting. She’s old but not that’s old. 100% upvote $1478. I did her twice because she was the first person to get to comment me. Then I went to Muhammed’s account and gave him an upvote as well. It felt good. They were all in shock. I replied to the troll and told him it was his biggest mistake he has ever made and that there was no way I was wasting my SP on him. I’d love to have seen his face.
My second post had 3000 upvotes that made $800. Wow some differences from the first one. It was about Raffles. He had just died. It was a sad post but he’s at peace now and Dad can join the golf club instead of walking him.

I’m gonna make my investment back in no time! My reputation shot up to early 60s in a week. I learnt about delegation and gave my 3 friends 50k each. I got famous on Steemit very fast as I spent all my time on it learning and upvoting good stories answered there are not many with more SP than me. It made me very popular. I love being the centre of attention. This is an investment that I will not cash in. It’s a lifestyle of my dreams. I have finally found a place that accepts me and my 5 million steem power.
I have been at couple of steem events and had a great time. Steemians went out of their way to find me at the events. The big one is coming up though in Krakow in Poland in a few days. I cashed in some of my steem from posts and paid for flights and hotels I booked for Sandip to come too. I just need some spending money so I’m gonna shit post about things like mums cooking to raise some easy steem. It’s chilli concarne tonight and mam is making me go to the shop for some kidney beans. There’s a post in this.
