Surprised that you hold minnowbooster so high, i tried their bid-services a few times, but felt i didnt get an ROI, but maybe try their direct service...
Quick Update: I tried out smartsteem (using your link), and from a bid value of about 52c got votes of about58c, so not entirely the 15% they promised on their website, and definitely at a negative ROI, so for me there are some bots that are better...

Did you send to smartmarket or smartsteem? Both are run by the same team but the former is for buying votes while the latter is for bidding for votes in which case results may vary depending on current bid amounts. Perhaps you should direct your concern to the SmartSteem discord group or to their main dev @therealwolf and maybe they can help clear up the discrepancy between what you received and what was promised.... Hope that helps.
Thanks for picking this up. To answer i went to the website and did it via there, which launched a SteemConnect Transfer, so worked fine. I have also applied for whitelisting, so that might have another impact as well... Good point to contact the creators.

When using a bid bot does the amount of bids matter? Say for example the amount of bids is 50% if the value of the votes is it still advisable to bid or should I find a bot with less bids on it
