Downvoting without sharing concern is not an right action because, downvote is there but not for the free use because it's not like the traditional social media networks like Facebook where we are leaving dislikes, here author can lose potential rewards so when author losing money they should have the right to justify and protect his money. Really unfortunate to hear about this brother, hope and wish that this will be stopped from now. Stay blessed.
It is like an insurance and when you lose money is not cool in the long run. It can demotivate any Steemians out there, but I am a strong man and is not that will stop me.

Yes, I've faced this before and lost almost 3 SBD because of Downvote just because I've used 1 SBD Bot Service. And tried to have an kind conversation with the Downvoter but no response then contacted to the Bot owner got the needed upvotes plus Downvoter received the downvotes for their negative actions in Economy.

They think, you are too big now, for the serial selfvoting. But no so big, like who can strike back hard, for example with 100k SP. The big boys have the own league, and we, the people have ours. And time-to-time, if someone hurt someone else's little soul, the flags arrived. Pretty stupid behavior, but you could see it, also common.
I dont do selfvote (i tried), because i dont have so much sp&vp :) But i think, selfvote is better like the supporting of a spam.
I decided to ignore them and not play their game. ;)
Some explanation resulting to the down voting could really go a long way, people need to act in a civilised way, this world would be so much better if we can stop being mean to each other...
Exactly, this is the way to be part of the far west of a decentralized social network. We need to adjust to this reality and keep going.
