Steemit Upvotes | Community Initiatives ✅

Getting some initial exposure and upvotes can be very challenging for new accounts on Steemit. The learning curve is very steep and new blogs often give up early because this platform rarely gives instant results after an initial introduction post.

This series of posts can be seen as a step by step guide of things that can be done by anyone who starts out on Steemit to build up their post earnings over time...

1. Steemit Upvotes | Increasing Post Earnings Basics ✅
---- Use your voting power, make genuine comments and make friends
2. Steemit Upvotes | Minnowsupport ✅
---- Check out @minnowsupport since they are here to help new members
3. Steemit Upvotes | Feedyourminnows ✅
---- Check out this project from @scrooger that spreads upvotes.
4. Steemit Upvotes | Steemfollower ✅

6. Steemit Upvotes | Community Initiatives ✅

There are many communities on Steemit that give support or host contest and challenges with real prize pools. They can be entered by everyone who is interested and up for it. Joining these can make a big difference when it comes down to increasing your own SP and your post earnings as a result. It is also a great way to make friends with other steemians who have similar interests and blogs.

During my first ~100 days on Steemit I played a whole lot of Sports Contests and they really helped me a lot since I powered 100% of my winnings. Steem back then was worth around 1$ which means having won 150$ combined converted in 150 STEEM is worth a lot more now. The same principle goes for anyone who starts out now, converting winnings to Steem Power will likely be worth more over time and really adds up if you stay active on this platform.

Nearly all created Contests use the #contest Tag and can be found there and most of them just require a reply and upvote. Many of them like my own EPL Betting Contest do have some minimum requirements in order to play to protect themselves against abuse. Usually these requirements are not a big issue for anyone who has been active on Steemit for over a month.

Everyone who starts out on Steemit has ~10 daily upvotes and they should be used wisely! Don't just go play in every single contest you can. Most of them require and upvote which can quickly drain your voting power and make you come across as a leecher.

The difference between Contests and Challenges is that challenges usually require you to make a post and use a specific tag to be part of the challenge. They often are very specific to communities here on Steemit (Health / Vegan / Photography / Fitness / Music / writing / travel / ...)

Steemit is a great platform where like-minded people with similar interests can group up and give each other support. This can lead to communities to be formed that support new members that join with similar interests as a group. They often have their own Discord Channel and sometimes also an upvote bot to support its members without really asking anything in return.

The Steemit Betting Community is a perfect example on how a couple Sports Bettors on Steemit grouped up and created an initiative that supports existing and new Sports Bettors who are on this platform. This is done with a free to use @sbcbot Upvote Bot, a Dicscord Channel and mutual support as seen on a post from @professionaltips last week that got flagged in an unfair way this week.

If you are new on Steemit and there is an existing community around your interest and what you bring yourself, joining it will be highly beneficial to your growth on this platform. Hard Fork 20 also promises to bring Hivemind and Communities which should highly increase the amount of communities present on Steemit making it much more entry friendly for beginners.

The Contests / Giveaways / Challenges / Communities I listed are just some of the ones that I know. There are plenty more of these, so please let me know in the comments which ones you regularly join, are a part of or get upvotes from so I can add them !

Thanks for the list @costanza. Lots more competitions to check out.

I remember that when i started out, i took part in a lot more of the photography related contests like the color challenge and beachwednesday, treetuesdays etc. If newbies have good photographs lying around, no harm sharing them and getting upvotes :)

Joining challenges and community initiatives are really great on Steemit If you have the time.
Some Payout from the EPL contest coming your way, you got all 5 correct but actually ended 2nd (behind me, will be tomorrows post)

Thanks for running the competition @costanza. Got lucky over the weekend haha.

Appreciate the hard work you put into your post's @costanza and helping promote other people's contests as well! Definitely agree on powering up your steem at the start especially from the contest you win, and that way you'll be eligible to enter most contest if you have enough SP and rank.

Thanks kryptocek, If I had more time I would join more contests and these kind of challenges myself. Great to see you taking initiative yourself, it really makes steemit the best !

Yeah its tough to try and be part of so many communities. Especially when you play big roles in certain ones. My goal is to make it easy for new members on Steemit to join mine. So I'm hoping it'll grow over time!

Thank you for the mention.

very interesting .... this post really helped me in a few days.
this post will be my reference to invite new steemit users I will ajarin next week.
