So, Who's Going To Be The First Man To Fly - As A Tourist - Around The Moon?
Yesterday, another brilliant tweet from the man known for making electric cars and rockets, Elon Musk himself (but under the SpaceX account) stormed the Internets:
Yeah, you read that right: space tourism is officially a thing right now. As a matter of fact, it will start being a thing as of Monday, September 17th, because that's when will know the identity of this mysterious first passenger.
Curious as I am, I tried my hand at guessing who this person might be. What follows is a transcript in readable form of my ramblings.
Please be aware that the list is not even remotely complete, so I kindly ask you to give your own guess in the comments. Best suggestion receives a full upvote from me.
- the first man will be Elon Musk himself, who paid by selling his shares in Tesla. His secret plan is to switch his place with a double while flying on the other side on the moon (when nobody will see this happening, that is), because he will be going down, baby, with a special parachute designed by, again, himself, in a revolutionary attempt to set up the first Moon-based electric cars factory
- the first man will be a woman, her initials will probably be KK, and her boyfriend will so no allow this to happen, because there is no such thing as the Moon, since everybody knows the Earth is absolutely flat. And yet, it will happen, leaving Kanye crying in his slippers
- the first man will be a person called Donald. The secret plan of the pilots will be to leave him for a while on the other side, telling him he has to negotiate trade tariffs with some aliens. Big aliens.
- the first man to fly as a tourist around the Moon will be Jeff Bezos. He will pay with what he makes on Earth for the duration of the trip. Plus some change.
