A beautiful morning to you all. Trust you are hale and hearty from your end. The one and only surviving key on Steemit is CONSISTENCY. Rome wasn't built in a day, success on Steemit could be slow at first. It requires a whole lot of patience and consistency to be called a whale in this community. I know of so many Steemians and esteemians who let go of Steemit because of the low worth of their earnings. Some who I started together with has dumped their account because they barely get an upvote from others on their post and even if they do, the worth of income could barely get the a month's data subscription. Yeah I know Steemit is down at the moment and its frustrating but why give up on something only when its down only to come back when it is back on its feet again. How to become successful as a newbie on steemit.
1 Making a post.
You have to make a post daily with an attractive title and "inviting" pictures. Making good and quality content post everyday increase your popularity on the platform and increases your chances of gaining upvotes from other steemians and also whales too. Even if you barely get an upvote, don't quit, just go on and on and keep those posts coming in. Sooner or later you will gain popularity and people will start upvote you.

2 Upvoting and commenting.
When you upvote other people work, you gain steem as curator rewards. Also by commenting on other people's quality post boost your recognition on steemit platform which also gives you upvotes too.

3 Following other Steemians.
The more people you follow, the more followers you get in return and the chances of upvote you stand to gain.

4 Using Esteemapp.
As a newbie, you should have an esteem app on your smartphone, laptop, desktop and computer. Using esteemapp helps me a whole lot and I think, no I mean I know every newbie should use the esteemapp when making a post.

5 Tags.
Tag is another thing that attracts upvotes. When you use good tags to complement your post, attracts stemmkans with higher reputation and Steemit power to upvote your post. Using posts like:

@esteemapp
@ulog etc has been of major difference to my post compared to before.

6 Using discord.
Now this is one app every steemian ought to have on their phone. Discord app is more than just a chat app, it is an app that exposes your post to a large group of individuals from different communities. We have crytoblogggers, wafrica, stach, Steemitfollowers, yehey, pal etc room in discord. There's also a part for post-promotion and upvotes in discord app which gives you more upvotes and upgrades your account. This app has helped my account in a whole lot of way and has taken my account to a different dimension.

In Conclusion,
Success at first is slow on Steemit and it is only the patient ones that end up being successful. Do not let your numbers of or low upvotes discourage you. Keep posting original world and flee from plagiarism to avoid being blacklisted by @cheetah. Remember there is always LIGHT at the end of the tunnel.
