I have moved all my content away from the now centralized and controlled Steem blockchain to the decentralized Hive blockchain.

Sort:

Great if you have inspiration for one quality post per day. I think we should post only when we have something to say but communicate daily with commenting nice articles like this one is...

I love to see people adopting the long term perspective! Thanks for setting a great example.

Looking forward to your daily posts again. Like others have said, it would be good to see you more active here again, producing your own content and helping promote and steer good quality content from others. The platform needs you.

Thanks, I am happy to share the Steem-love again.

I love to see people adopting the long term perspective! Thanks for setting a great example.

I think people should stop telling other people how to think and act. There is nothing "Spiritual" about declaring what "Others" should do.

I would prefer that people share their own experiences and views and let everyone decide how to use their power and what is beneficial for the blockchain.

There is an opportunity for end-users to utilize the bots and gain visibility. I do not want to see us go back to the same 10 people being on trending each day, and end users have a complete inability to gain visibility.

I am glad you have found a path going forward that feels good to you, but I certainly hope that some SP holders will not bow down to those who are complaining and stay the course, because the bots are great for distribution, if not content. We can fix the content issues with curation, both flags and upvotes, but we can not fix distribution that way.

I think it can be "spiritual" to help others especially when you have information that could help benefit them like with the .02 threshold or @dustsweeper I generally try and share that. Unless they are bad Steemians then I may not mention it. lol

I also think it can be spiritual to help people as well. I said, I don't think it is spiritual, to TELL others how they should act, invest, etc.

Depending on how they do it it could be Satanic "spiritual". ;) lol There are helpful people that offer suggestions and their are obnoxious people that seem to get off on telling others how to live their lives. I try and stay away from the obnoxious people but I do sometimes fail. :( lol
You didn't sign up for @dustsweeper?

I "heard" that dust will no longer be swept after the next hardfork, but I don't know if that is true.

I don't mind my dust getting swept. Let the smaller users gather dust. Remember swept dust means less inflation. Pros and cons. I don't have a strong opinion.

Hopefully you are right. I think I did my fair share of protesting about it. lol I think having more upvotes count could help with our abysmal user retention. Maybe we can go from like 10% all the way up to 20%.

I might be a little greedy. lol I feel bad though not upvoting you. I'll have to check out your blog and comments.

Someone say "Satanic" ?!!?

I totally agree with that!

I never meant to oppose my view on others. I still think SmartSteem is an awesome tool and totally see it thrive in the future. And I am also not against bots whatsoever. On the contrary, I think they are some of the most marvelous things of the Steem blockchain.

Just because I have decided this path for myself today doesn't mean this has to be the status quo for everyone. Everyone as they like.

I understand your concern with the "delegate and forget it" mantality that some take here on steemit, but delegation is not evil. Delegations can go to users who incentivize the growth of the platform through iniatives like @brandonfrye does with his delegation bot.

And he is just one example. People like you with posts like this also.

There are many people who are working hard, through their content contributions, curation efforts and some with their upvotes, to make this platform better, more exciting, more rewarding and overall to #GrowSteemit, through the way we operate.

Growing Steemit can happen through offering rewards, but it can also happen through actual effort to spark real dialogue, because conversation scratches an itch all of humanity has.

We want to talk about substance, real life doesnt scratch that itch for most people today. Social media like Steemit can offer that outlet, if we foster that here on steemit.

How do we foster real conversation?

  1. Post stuff we are interested in.
  2. Read/watch stuff we are interested in.
  3. Comment on posts we are interested in.
  4. Reply to others comments, and posts.

That's it. If we all do that, this platform will be more exciting and entertaining, and then the rewards will come because the content is real and invites positive responses.

In conclusion, yes if we use our SP to upvote we are going to grow steemit by encouraging great content creators, and yes, delegating all your SP prevents that, BUT there are other ways... start a dialogue on your favourite bloggers post, that is in some ways just as powerful as upvoting his content. If you can encourage readers to dialogue over your favourite content creator's most recent post, you are helping your favourite content creator.

Thanks for the great content here, and the interesting conversation piece.

I like the #growsteemit hashtag, will use it.

I think the simplest thing we can do is reward those who are active, even low quality posts are better than no posts.

And who knows, if people see that someone is watching and engaging, they may invest more time

Yes, delegation is a fantastic tool of the Steem blockchain. This brings supports to all sorts of authors and platforms. I love it!

And of course, you can still be a very valueable member of the community if you delegate for profit. There is room for all forms of dealing with their stake. I just have the feeling that right now it is particularly strong but this might just be a phase. In the end we need to find an equilibrium to keep Steem still interesting enough for users and investors. I assume this will become a very dynamic thing the bigger the community grows.

Good to see you coming back and fired up. You've been a pretty big influence to me since I got started and you were the first person I watched on Dtube about 5 months ago when I joined.

And I understand your concerns about the platform. Especially guys like you that have been here early on to see what it has become or what it has the potential to as well.

I myself...am very bullish on this blockchain because I think it's a fantastic solution to so many issues in social media and content creation.

That being said, it's only a few years old....I don't think Twitter and Facebook got their 'act' together until much later....And that's a bad example to compare...But regardless....Give Steemit a year or two and I think we will all be very happy and VERY generous with our upvotes :)

Well said! We always overestimate the change that will occur in the short term future and underestimate the change that will occur in the long term. Steemit has been already growing faster then Reddit and Facebook at that point. And DTube even faster. So we are on for a ride!

I have been contemplating keeping all of my SP undelegated. However, the point you bring up about others receive less has me thinking it isn’t such a great idea. I like giving people a good upvote. - a minows perspective 🐡

I also left one and a half years ago when I should have stayed. I didn’t realize I was being blessed - I did very well in the beginning. Crypto didn’t become real for me until about 2 months ago when my bike was almost stolen; it was when I had the money in my hand that crypto become something worth pursuing. I’ve been writing daily since I’ve been back. Seems a little rougher this time around.

Your writing seems genuine. I’m sure you’ll figure out the best place to put your time.

Steemit is constantly changing and the approach you take here will work one month and the next you might want to reconsider. I guess we are all learning and growing here.

Ah yes this is gold.

I try to envision myself on the top of mount olympus manually doling out the riches bestowed upon me through months of work and authoring and networking. I suppose when I reach that point, there will be automated ways to do that but it never occurred to me that I would actually do that.

What you are doing is giving back to this great community and mingling with the common people. Could you imagine that is what the leaders in the real world did? Instead of moving from their neighborhoods where they had their humble beginnings, they simply improved their lot there, and improved that community as a whole? I suppose that is thick idealism but it would be very noble indeed.

I admire you for taking this stance, putting in the work, and, potentially most valuable to this community, serving as an example for others to do the same thing.

The effort will be noble but the duplication will make the hugest impact on this great and help shape it in a large way.

I can't wait to cast a wake 10% of yours so that my influence and efforts are more considerable and beneficial to others.

Fantastic idea and I look forward to the discussion here.

Well, I have to deliver on it first. So hold your horses until you see me putting words into action. :)

Yah well vocalizing is the first step which is the most important part of a journey.

Glad you're back Flauwy! Your 60 video tutorial was what got me excited about Steemit and was one of the first things to introduce me to the Steemit blockchain. I think it is still one of the most comprehensive guides to getting started here.
Who is the Dwarf avatar? I have not seen him yet.
Good luck on Utopian and I look forward to seeing some more great content from you
@flauwy. Keep it up bro!

Check out @thecryptodwarf for more. I have just done one video yet and wasn't entirely happy with it. But there will be more videos. :)
