What is not understandable is the marketing strategy of the platform. It is difficult to distinguish the main targets and there is no concrete financial policy obviously. Also, there is a rare phenomenon which consists of the constant decrease of the rewards value for posts no matter the STEEM price in the market. I get some 0.12 (for example) as a reward for a post and after half an hour I see it decreasing to 0.11 and then 0.10 while the price of steem is increasing in the market. Of course, the same situation whenever steem price goes deep down (which is usual). This economic phenomenon is unique and unexplained but let's say that it happens for our good and for the further evolution of the steem blockchain... let's say...
Back to the steepshot issue, it is more correct to inform users about the problems than to leave them with no info about any given situation, good or bad. It is important to understand that the so-called "Decentralization" is not a kind of proof of amateurism. Problems must be resolved as fast as possible and people in charge should work on responsibly.
Users of the steem blockchain and its applications invest money and the minimum of what the big heads could do is to respect the investors, at least... Unfortunately, this is not the case. To not mention the unforgettable hard fork 2, it seems that the whole behaving of the steemit administration is almost not friendly to the user-investor, giving priority to the few whales that compose the "core" of the steem showcase, the steemit blogging. It could be more efficient to plan with the users and not to ignore the reality of numbers and the real-human activity. One other example of what is going wrong is the latest bug in the Steemit environment. Thanks to this cute bug I can see a ghost follower! According to steemworld app I follow 981 fellow steemians and 977 are following me but my blog page indicates 978 followers, funny isn't it? It is obvious that if Steemit continues the same way there is no clear future for any kind of further development. Steemit as a showcase of the steem blockchain will die slowly if there is no serious policy about all these issues that are killing the experiment and any inspiration. Every day, active users, real persons, inspired, talented, leave the platform. Why? Every day new bot accounts are created, why? There are a few people working really about the future of the steem and its apps. It is not enough. The steem blockchain is its community nothing more, nothing less. It is the community that gives value to the steem and this community must grow and become strong and financially independent to survive. Steem is the only token backed by a so compact, active, and strong community. The potential is huge! A serious effort is necessary for the steem blockchain to not only attract more people but also to keep these people. Thus, while I'm firmly convinced of STEEM's eventual success, I cannot say the same about the steemit's future as the main showcase of the steem blockchain and its utility. This is a sad reality for a lot of steem dapps and the community should face this reality in order to correct things and ameliorate the steem experience. The "currency" STEEM by the other hand, is not depending on the growth of steem blockchain apps as long as it is constantly used, traded, and is in substance the "blood" of the STEEM bockchain organism. That said, it is normal to have crashed applications, this doesn't mean a crashed coin as new applications replace the dead one and so on. The steemit inc, for example, can be replaced easily by the most advanced and reliable steampeak if it completely fails to provide a decent service to its users, same for the steepshot app which is proven not that reliable, same for any app on the top of the STEEM blockchain. Failed applications are part of the experiment and the best way to grow fast is to study the fails cases.
