The Crypto Writer's Matrix

"The Gig Economy" is full of "niche gigs," after all the word niche means natural place within the order of a system. The word gig is an American slang term derivative of when Rock and Blues music had concerts that they called "gigs" for some reason lost to time.

Cryptocurrency is the newest hundred-billion dollar industry. The recent admission by Citigroup that cryptocurrencies are not loosing steam, banks are; has made the awareness of a date [dates in Bitcoin history where positives are a sure thing] in the near future, when Bitcoin "futures" show promise for short term payoff. If you didn't know the date I'm discussing is the looming/blooming end of public discussion requested by the Securities & Exchange Commission on the topic the granting of a Bitcoin futures selling license to SimpleX and the CBOE.

Medium's partner program is a good source of income once the audience kicks in. Some writers have enjoyed success in crypto programs structured like Medium's way to pay good writers. Snip, Steemit, and Scorum have made people a good living. In my first two months, using a system that pays by the day, by the month, and by the week in different crypto currencies, I have had articles paying from a little more than a tenth of a penny to articles that have paid $49 in a month.

Success is a work in progress, blog stars on these websites have paid their due diligence, and it pays off for them to that effect. Their audience pays them for the commentary and the information. Deliberately, a good writer in form and content can earn thousands per article.

The marketing plans of some very effective news and information sources along with Blockchain have indemnified the characteristics of news agencies like the Huffington Post, Politico, and The Hill. Snoop Dogg said it best when he said "The game is to be sold, not told." Crypto-verification and reward for good writing is scoring well with audiences.

Snip | News. Summarized.

Snip.Today has definitely epitomized the meaning of "niche gig." Articles have word limits of 150 words for reports and 225 words for an "Explained" article. The payoff can be up to $100 per article. So far, the companies advertising partners haven't made it out of Beta testing and there is no limit to the number of articles. Token volume is showing growth and price fluctuation has volatility. The SNIP is available exclusively on Qryptos.

Snip pays in either Ethereum (see the joke there), or PayPal every Tuesday. Articles are eligible after submission until 6:00 PM PST. The plan there is to move from these payment methods to the actual Snip tokens. As it stands, the payouts are decent, and always on time.

Steemit

Steemit has shown me the value of trading information through opinion and speculation, or what I like to call "Advisory Blogging." One of my posts was about a group of W.H.A.L.E.S. (Wealthy Healthy Athletic Legal Eligible Salesmen) control bitcoin and develop natural value flow within the currency. The romance of it all. Steemit is the best crypto-paying website around.

Tsun Tzu says "The general that has to march 1000 men 10 miles stands better chance than the general who has to march 10,000 men 100 miles." If you have a home on the Steem blockchain, then you are pretty well set.@chbartist is the hottest blog star on Steemit, pulling in around $1000 for almost every article. His followers are loyal, and he evolves a good story. His theme is to be motivated about Steem. And he does a good job at it.

Readers upvote articles and give them Steem based on the voters voting power and their Steem Power. Voting power is the measurement of how much the monetary weight of your Steem Power is available to be used on the Steemit Blockchain. Steem Power is how much you have vested in the Steemit Blockchain which gives you license to delegate a share of the Steemit community chest.

This chest pays you in Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power. An estimated dollar amount is displayed on your article for the duration of the seven-day eligibility period. During this time, the upvotes weighted by voters choice of voting power and delegated Steem Power. It's an interesting system and it has caught on with other websites as well. Steemit articles pay immediately at the end of the eligibility period.

Scorum

Scorum is like Steemit. An upvote based system scores the values for sports articles. Timofey Mosgov has graced the pages of Scorum and is doing well. Not quite what it would be on Steemit, but the census is about one-tenth the size of Steemit.Scorum uses the same payment system as Steemit. I've only submitted two articles on Scorum. One of them earned almost $4. I am still new to it, and couldn't do it justice. I'll just say, it's Steemit for sports bloggers and uses the Medium interface to edit posts. Really a solid website.

Lunyr

Lunyr is the World's First Decentralized Encyclopedia. It's not just about cryptocurrency, but it focuses on the blockchain. I have one published article, one denied article, and one pending article on the platform that pays you in LUN tokens. Lunyr runs on the peer-consensus model, where a jury of your peers pay for the right to vote for or against your right to publish the article on the website.

Medium, by far, is the best paying website for writers who want fiat currency only. There is in no way that I would dispute this. But each of these other websites are excellent testing grounds for Medium content. A proving grounds worth it's measure. You have to be crypto savvy, and willing to put in what you want out.

This may come as a surprise to you, but Medium has a partner program that pays writers for member reads and claps. You only need a Stripe account connected to your bank account and the medium check is there once a month. Once an article is written and marked for members by the writer, it's eligible for the lifetime of the article.

FameProject

All the writing aside, you have to know what to write about. There are news aggregators, data pools, content gurus and the rest. One new investment minded project has your fix for predicting what news will happen. Fame project.org is a website where users can buy shares of probable answers speculating the outcome of current pop culture events.

Questions like "will Dez Bryant play football this year," or "will LeBron James be the first celebrity on Baker Mayfield's docuseries" give users the chance to earn money from the speculation of the events. It's a good way to follow a story line and you could probably pick up some extra cash if you faithfully follow it. Don't try it if you have inside information. There is a disclaimer warning of the danger of using inside information to make your decision.

Honorable mention goes to Presearch, though it isn't a blogging site. However, it does pay to search. Up to 8 PRE tokens daily (32 searches) are paid to everyone who searches the linked open source search engines and the master search engine for Presearch. Search for strictly Soundcloud material, or dive into the Wall Street Journal. Presearch pays.

A couple of projects haven't come out of Beta and are not open to everyone, but they do look promising:

DNN

Decentralized News Network (DNN) is basically the same website as Snip. They allow users to write news stories for which they are rewarded in DNN tokens. DNN is still in Beta and will not be adding users until a later date.

CIVIL

Civil is a newsroom platform, meaning if you have a functioning news agency, you can publish your content through a Civil newsroom. Civil is accepting applications for newsrooms, there is a constitution under which Civil's delegated forums will decide your fate. It's still in Beta, as well.

To anybody who is considering blogging for cash, I recommend two things. First, and foremost, grow your social network. 1000 people are good if they are interested. To be certain you want at least 5000. Your posts will get around to at least 2500 people if you have the kind of followers who like and share.

The second piece of advice is get a spelling and grammar checker. I use writers.work. It has a spelling/grammar checker, thesaurus, word score, ambient sounds, a timer, portfolio page with contact, Unsplash picture library, and more. It runs around $100, and there is helpful content advising new writers how to get started. The best part is you can publish straight to Medium and Wordpress; and even render .pdf, .docx, and markdown files.

Now that you know the crypto writer's framework, all you need to do is get out there and write. Good luck, and don't forget to support.
