Would you pay to get your blog posts pinned?

in #steemit5 years ago (edited)

Most of you here have probably noticed by now this pinned blog post by @ned. The pinned post as seen on the image below only appears on Steemit.com and is seen at the very top of your Feed whether you follow @ned or not.

I for one think that this is a pretty good idea by Steemit Inc to pin announcements like this one as a lot of newbies still don't know who @ned is and who or where they can read official blog posts regarding Steem/Steemit.

Anyway, after seeing the pinned post above it got me thinking as to how much people really care about being seen and heard on Steemit. If you ask ALL bidbot users on Steem as to why they are boosting their posts with tens and/or hundreds of dollars, around 90% of them would answer: For Visibility!

Because no one bothers to look at the "Promoted" section anymore and they really want their blog post to be seen and read by the general public because it has substance, a point, high-quality yada yada yada! Well the gist is that those guys use bidbot for increased visibility (or so they claims XD).

Which got me thinking: If there is such a feature on Steem that allows everyone to somehow pin their blog posts for an N number of minutes at the very top of ALL users feed, would you pay for it?

Think of it like the Steemit promoted feature before wherein you send some liquid Steem/SBD to the @null account along with the link of your blog post, and then Steemit will put your blog post on the "Promoted" section but in this case it will put your blog post at the very top of ALL users feed. XD

Probably at a rate of 1 hour = 2 STEEM. Hey all you guys want is visibilty right? Also since all liquid Steem/SBD sent to @null gets burned (destroyed) it somehow helps Steem too. XD

Well most likely no one would use it as it doesn't give one "guaranteed" profit!

Sort:

It would be cool for steem to sell that top pin but i doubt it, advertising wasnt supposed to be the point for steemit. but it certainly is good revenue generation. Steemit needs to play it smart, but I think it'd be great.

i don't think this can happen. just add the number of people that would use it and do the math, it doesn't add up, except if we are talking for minutes :p and later on that the prices will go up and more people will once again join we are talking about seconds or lower :p
