Why is there no people with Steem Power in Latam

I normally dont post in spanish and this is not an accident. One of my soapbox is that a lot of people in the spanish community are from Venezuela, like most cryptocurrencies communities. Venezuelans dominate the space, the issue is that is mostly to get money, very seldom is to actually invest.

This become more apparent when coming to the steemit platform as most of the people voting on content come from Venezuela, but their vote is little to none since there is no Steem Power on their accounts to actually generate value to the publisher.

This makes it hard to make content that target the spanish speaking market. I hope thing changes in the future but I also hope that more latam countries can join in from Chile, Mexico and Colombia so they can actually become investors on the network and with that help the content creation communities to make the best out of the project . Actually put money on their wallets and make their vote mean something.

So for my spanish speaking people, lets get more SP behind our vote and make Steemit great again.

Without making a super economic study lets look at what the minimum of SP you need to generate at least 0.01 SBD behind your vote. The range goes from 50-90 SP, most people that I have seen has only 20 SP in average. Right now Steemit is around 2.36 usd/steem which means they will need around 110 USD on SP to get to 0.01 SBD, if we substract the 20 SP they have it will just need around 100 USD. How much is this in Colombia, Mexico or Chile, I will say is around 1/3rd to 1/5th of their rent.

This means that they can make it withing a week of work and with that around 2 months of participating on the network they could save that amount to get to 0.01 SP.
