I am a year old on STEEMIT today.

in #steemit6 years ago

My name is Amankwah Amoako Kwaku from Ghana, West Africa and this is a brief story about my journey so far. Many have come and gone but I am glad to be part of the few that stayed. It started awful and it still awful sometimes but because we knew and understood what this system was about, we invested not just a portion of our small savings but also our time and energy writing quality posts and replying numerous comments. This made me in particular connect with some amazing people such as @richforever ,@mosunomotunde ,@anaman , @mcsamm ,just to mention a few. Steemit has offered me with a lot and I know the coming years is going to be bigger and better.

A big thank you to my high school buddy @tj4real who saw it fit to share the good news with me and countless others. I have a story to tell one day and steemit will play a major role in that story. The truth is simple and it is that the work done here is as hard as anywhere but if you learn the rules and apply them very well, it wouldn’t feel like work to you. I quite remember in my first week of joining this community. That was the week before HF19 and at that time, I didn’t know a lot about the platform but I kept applying what I had been told and the night before the hardfork, I checked my incoming rewards and it was around $25. That wasn’t bad for me since I had never worked for any money at that time. The next morning came and to my surprise, my $25 reward had turned a little over $250 and I just couldn’t believe my eyes. I then gained faith in this system which made me read the whitepaper and consequentially making a dangerous bet which turned out very well.

Steemit has made me realize how possible it is for just about anyone to make their voice heard and get paid doing that. So, I took part in promotional campaigns to help more of my country folk get on board. Most people were and still are skeptical about it which is very sad to me. There are a lot of opportunities out there in the real world and in the blockchain ecosystem as well. Steemit has proven itself to me to be one of the most profitable and worthy ventures deserving of my time and energy. I just hope and pray many realise and grasp this opportunity while steem is undervalued.

I also can't wait to meet a beacon of hope as yourself @mosunomotunde. Let us continuously inspire each other to be more than we are now.
A hug.

Happy anniversary bro...

It's been a journey and I'm glad I found you guys. Greater things await us in the near future.

1 and counting

Greater things indeed awaits bro. We pray for long life, enough to be a part of it all.

Wow @kwakumax
I am all wow over you and your work.
I am @mwanjo from cameroon, we are just getting to know about steem now. I am so impressed with you blog.
Keep it up, and stay blessed.

hey, you guys should keep spreading the good news to everyone who has a smartphone . It might turn out to be the best gift they have had yet.

VERY nice man! Upvoted and resteemed & I will get @ackza to resteem this one, this is really cool glad to see you're one year anniversary and I'm REALLY glad to see you getting the minnowbooster upvote helping you push to over $100 you deserve the publicity man, I hope to see you using dtube and dlive everyday man, you could really get into dlive and dtube before they become too popular

My beginnings on this platform was a joyous once due to the help of people like you. Like you exposed us to me to this great platform, make it known to others so they'll also get to benefit.

yes @kwakumax has always been an inspiration. I hope that the Steemit Exec's notice these African Steem Success stories and either delegate to them or get them some jobs perhaps officially representing steemit inc in some way in Africa

Yes I really hope Ned or Steemit inc gets some official representatives hired in Africa, maybe one for every country :D but I really do believe Africa can be a proving ground for new technology especially steem, I see it working everyday for Africans! I just hope Steemit inc gets officials on the ground or at least some representation of Steem Blockchain in Africa like laying down the Mycelium for the mushrooms to fruit. We need to lay down the substrate of steem blockchain for the steemit front end and other front ends to grow and crystallize their social networks. Social networks kinda do grow like crystals form slowly with molecules just accumulating, kind of like the way the people on a social network online grab new people and the networks grow like a spider web with each person interacting with multiple people like a nerve Cell having many dendrites interacting with many other neurons .

Everyone who has joined since kwakumax will keep benefiting as long as this network keeps growing word of mouth in Ghana (Which it will because people notice the much higher levels of income people start making very fast very easy compared to other online ventures)

Even if no new people in Ghana or the world joined steem, we just need our own users to buy more of our own SP, and the aprox 76 million liquid steep is not powered up, and we can power up a lot of that, we can get the circulating liquid supply of steem down to bitcoin levels, and then we can get it even smaller than that and right now there isn't even a couple million steem available across the major exchanges, maybe 2 million, youd have to go to the top accounts on steemit to get another 10 million or so steem but then, the rest of it? I don't know I am guessing it is split up between many small accounts perhaps? And then I also don't know where one would go to buy up more than 1 million steem... That would be difficult to buy on Binance that would mean youd have to buy the entire daily volume worth of steem on binanceto get a million! Now around 700k steem a week or around 28 million steem a YEAR will be generated in 2018 according to @banjo

YearSupplyInflationNew Supply
2016250,000,0009.50%23,750,000
2017273,750,0009.08%24,854,398
2018298,604,3988.66%25,854,554
2019324,458,9528.24%26,727,942
2020351,186,8947.82%27,452,027

so if we can just get people to power up around 28 million steempower a year we can ensure the steem is so scarce that only a few million steem would be liquid, that's what I am imagining! it can be driven up to $100s of dollars per steem if we power up enough steem and create enough of a demand for it, and create a chain reaction self pumping price where we advertise steem as a sort of Passive Income tool where you buy Steempower, rent it out for liquid and just keep powering that up for more and more, growing and growing, and this is something that earns you more and more as steem price goes up, so it will make people REALLy NEED that SP just to DO this sort of Passive Income system, which we can make a SNAZZY nice fronte nd for! A simple minnobooster like fronte nd that lets you Instanbtly signup, buy SP wioth BTC or whatever crypto using blocktrades etc and then the site can immiedtaly help you rent out your Sp or sell your votes, whicver makes more passive income and the whole p[rocess can even have users post from their account lil posts showing that they just participated in a passive icnome program, use nice graphics, and make it kind alike a promotinal way to earn possibly lil extra from posts about hoiw you just invested this much or that much BTC into Steem and powered it up! And people do resopiodn welll toi posts about powering up steem! If I saw a front end making allthese autoamted posts from peopeles new accounts who are all Powering up 10 steempower 100 steempower there, 500 steempower here 1000 steempower there I would LOVE that! I would LOVE a website to kind of show off steem and its pasive income vote selling or Sp leasing as a way to make passive income IF you are OK with the risk that steem may not go up in price, its nota garuyntee, but if you like the technology and are confident in it like I am and we are,m think about it, you COULD sell steem as a passive income system and a simpel website could eanr all its money from posts and beneficiary rewards and jst help people sell their vote or lease thgeir SP that the ALSO help users buy after helpingthem signup, all iun a VERY user friendlky WIZARD a Steem signup, steem buying, powerup and SP leasing WIZARD tool! Anyway that could REALLy help us grab a LOT of new investors, make them think they're getting some sort of free money every day which they are,but frame it more like a easy to use passive income system that uses steem and the fact that when you buy Steem you can stake it but then you can just sell votes or lease SP instead of having to self vote, and that garuntees you effportless passive income, its not tHAT much but it IS nice profit and if STEEM price goes up it CAN be VERY profitable! That's what we ultamitley depend on to really sell the dream, but anyway my comments already gotten too long!

Anyway I just think Steem is the best bet for Africans trying to earn some Bitcoin, and eventually steem will replace Bitcoin as the currency of choice for the common people like silver with Bitcoin being like Gold, always accepted but more of a hassle when youre trying to use it to buy food :D But using a silver coin to buy food makes more sense! Bitcoin seems OK for big purchses online and in person but for everyday stuff steem and its free transactions and cheaper price makes more sense in a common sense way even if its arbitrary what the price is... It just feels more accesible to have a $4 or even $1.50 Steem price.. (But that steem while its cheap, it will bounce back)

Happy New Age on Steemit @kwakumax. Wow, your journey so far has been so inspiring. I love your motivational posts and they add value to me. Hmm, little wonder you're rewarded decently. You're so right the platform requires ones hard work and new users like me are constantly seeking knowledge to grow. I'd like to know about 'HF19' and I must confess, I love your Steemit growth. Congratulations dear! You have an amazing look. Black and Handsome ♥

I am grateful for your kind words @tobah and i am glad my work here inspires you too. Let us keep up the good work for there are better days ahead.

Thanks have a nice week

Nice one bro.
I'm from Nigeria. I'm barely a month old on steemit but I must say, it's been a wonderful experience. I came onboard to share my kmowledge about environmental science and my passion soccer but I've learnt a whole lot about different fields and places and I think that is what steemit actually represents - Learning. I'm certain a time will come when earning wouldn't even be a problem at all. For now, I'm just enjoying the ride so as not to get discouraged.

I just upvoted and followed you. I'd appreciate if you could do the same so that we'd get updates about each other's posts.

hey, @writeit, it is nice to meet you here. And just as you stated, it will take time but you will get there if you keep up the work (learning and applying). It is good to know you have a passion for soccer, i know we can do something about that right here on the platform to help others get acquainted with the rest of the community.

man you know no one in Ghana is pushing to become an EOSGhana block producer candidtte, and even if you don't get voted EOS Block producer(Witness) you will STILl get to rub sholders with eos grousp and make an EOS Ghana group to apply for SOME of that MASSIVE fundinga ndu can always use money from EO Sto buy STEEMPOWER to then make money off, I mean you should use the money from EOS to help get free wifi spots and get bulk shipments of smartphones, we just really need that bulk smartphone shipments to Ghana and Nigeria along with as many free wiofi hubs in as many big cities as we can get, because if steemians can come to city centers to get free wifi or as long as we put free wifi zones in buildings in every city and town, like steem hub like @steemgh wanted to do, and if he gets the funding he can setup a test hub with WIFI if he can do that we can find out how much it would cost to put up steem hubs with free wifi =like cafes and maybe if they can make money from posts you could make money off of these like regular businesses selling food and rinks directly for crypto because thanks to @yensesa we can allowpeopel in Ghana to get Cedis MTN mobile Money right on their phone if they have sbd/steem. So I see a lot ooif promise for recruiting the masses in Ghana and Nigeria. Universities should be a place we recruit from and we could have every single university student in Ghana using their classes and university facilities to CREATE STEEM FRONT ENDS and to POST ON STEEMIT AND MAKE STEEM PROJECTS! Seriously if University students just showed professors how they could all post and ALL make money online, then MAYBE the professors coulkd make room for Steem in their classes.

What better of a project for It and technology students then creating a realistic steem app or front end that is useful and maybe is for African Steemians and allows for beneficiary rewards and comes with a bank of data info, imagine a special app for West African or just Ghanian Steemians that educates new users in Africa in a much faster way than niormal users.,.. You could make apps that have videos tutorials built in and that guide users through how to signupa and use dtube dlive utopian etc... And you could make it so when you make a new post it shows youa list of relevant posts about africa like trending posts on #africa tag show you can have ideas while you write, maybe show a google image bank of steemit images with #africa or #ghana hashtags, I mean we could even have Dos and Don'ts and explain how to not leave short nmessages, a checklist to ensure if someone posts conetnt that isn't theres that they cite their source and at least leave a review, we could even have markdown templates the way the new Steemreviews website has for its users, now that steemreviews is the sort of SIMPLE fronte nd students could make , a simpel stem fronte nd that takes a very small beneficiary reward percentage of jhustra few percent and then you could end up with a great passive income , students can use steem to develop SO many great tools websites curation clubs, just having a sort of @booster and @frontrunner guild that upvotes before booster paid upvotes forearning us all curation, you could do an Africa version like @wafrica booster or africabooster or ghanabooster and ghana frontrunner where you make it so new users with just a few SP can all swim as a school combine their SP for a paid bid bot like booster africa where you can keep it for just africa related posts..

Anyway just thought those ideas are something you could use!

Making fronte nds or special Apps or chrome extensions just for African steem users that come preloaded with lists of well known African Steemians like @mcsamm youc an reach out to to help , they can help new users in exchange for being listed on these lists an dgetting lots of nbew followers and upvoets etc,m I feel liekw e have so much potential to just ACCELERATE the learning of new users in Ghana and west africa teaching them to use African landscape, cultruye, nature or just pictures of urban areas to make interesting posts, remind afrcian users that the rest of tehw orld doenst get to see much fo africa so when you tell Any story about africa it becomes novel and inbteresting! Just be yourself and tel your own story and you cannotgo wrongthats the tip I would GIVE to NEW users! :D I want an App that helps new users for a specific region it can have @yensesa built in for new ghanian users :D:D omg 8it could be huge manb! @black-man might end up needing to make his own front end JUST to include a built in yensesa plugin! He should make some sort of system so ALL future African based steem front ends can use yensesa and I hope yensesa does create a system for Nigeria and use steemit istelkf to find people in every country across sub saharan africa to be able to exchange money between them all using stem as the Continental reserve currency for settling in, wooo its powerful stuff! Incredible times we live in where we actually do have working global digital currencies that can be the common denominator between multiple African currencies, WITHOUT needing any Dollar or Pound, euro or franc etc, just Steem oR bitcoin or even EOS! (And Bitcoin private will be the BEST option for much of Africa in the future, where you can turn Africa into a crypto anarchist dream where crypto is just ignored and all political offices are held by crypto holders who wish to spend their wealth in peace prvately, maybe even start increasing fianncial security laws. Imagine if Ghana became so crypto friendly tht they lowered taxes to almost nothing for crypto currency people. SO many rich investor would set up shop and even if the don't go travelk themselves they'd INVEST and sed money into the country to start building businesses! I'm so tempted to buy land because I see its so cheapo now and I KNOW that LAND always goes up in price!

Happy Steemit anniversary to you, @kwakumax! And cheers for promoting Steemit in your area and offering your people a chance to have their voices heard, and potentially get paid for and make a living with it.

It's important that you highlighted how far our HOPE can do for this platform. As long as we work hard to create value-rich content and hope for the best, good things are in store for us and for the whole STEEM community. Thanks for sharing and more power to you!

Thank you so much for sharing you experience! I started 2 weeks ago here, and I haven't done too much by now but I've completely enjoyed all my way through here! I'm always searching, reading and being counscious at everything around me just to post it, trying to find something that people would like to read or watch here! I've never worked before too because I'm a medical student and I don't have too much time for doing anything but studying, but I've taken a little bit of my time each day to being here and make this platform grow (and me with it), hope someday I can reach your level and make more people reach my posts. You made me dream about future :) greetings from Venezuela.

woow well said.

@claubzs , it is worth it to make time for this platform and i guess you are beginning to realize that. Keep up the good work and i know one day, you will make it bigger than you have ever imagined here.

You made me dream about future

I am glad this post made you think about the future even if it was for just a moment. Keep on keeping on.
