Reflections - Social Media Revolution

I'm all for technology and sharing. I see it as an inevitability that our lives will be broadcast online. It's just the current power holders see the same and wish to contain it by owning the paradigm. This is the 'fix' that we as the people first have to wriggle out of, before technology and these platforms can really benefit us.

Cryptocurrency is the beginning of decentralized currency. Money being necessary to function in everyday life - for centuries this service has been owned by the banks and because of the corruption of the banks there is so much interest in crypto. Decentralized forms of social media will also take a major footing, as we the people realise the corporate owned versions are cutting us short of the true benefits.

As real social media takes the place of corporate controlled feeds - then the real social revolution can happen. As it stands now, we are in the middle of a fix. We experience some level of sharing and autonomy online but it is distorted.

So I'm crying wolf everyone. WOLF!

Is this a scare tactic, or the rantings of a crazy conspiracy nut? Or is it a reality?

The potential that technology has to improve our lives, eliminate war and poverty is obvious to the average person that has two eyes in their head. But why are the benefits taking so long to get here? Benefits that were what sold us into this automated world as computers became more and more popular in the late decades of the last century - but where is all the potential of technology hiding?

The potential is hidden within the old paradigm of control that wishes to retain control and will go to any lengths to secure the new paradigm as its own.

To change, we must take responsibility of the mediums and have faith true mediums will take the place of these stubbornly controlled ones.

How long shall we wait? As long as it takes us to act on this knowledge.

Leaders throughout history have never just given over their power to the people in generous epochs of giving, no, it has always been taken by the people. While things seem equal on the surface in this new techno-world - really look at what gets priority on the media. It's the old gods trying to retain control outside of their time.

From another perspective, it is not the leaders at fault here - as long as the people allow it, it will happen. When the people take up leadership, then the dinosaurs of control have no choice but to move on.

Power always remains in the hands of the people. It's just a matter of letting people know how much we are getting cut short - removing ignorance and inspiring new leadership and action; dispelling fear propagated by sensationalist media.

It is inevitable the group mind will evolve past this point of procrastination and it will flourish. We just happen to live in the time period of this transition. A new world is coming, and the not the 'new world' spoken of by the self-made gods of the consumer empire.

For it to happen, we must take control of this shift, and until then we will be contained in a simulated one - one that claims to carry forth the tenets of the new paradigm yet a creeping feeling in our gut exposes how much it fails miserably.
