So, after my little rant last night, I thought I'd have a look at the flipside and show you some brilliant Apps that run on this blockchain that do make every attempt to turn this into a nouveau social media experience and who I think are tragically under-utilised.

@steemitworldmap is absolutely brilliant and simple way for everyone to share their travel stories and photos. If you have a great photo, go to www.steemitworldmap.com, stick a pin on the location you took the photo, and copy the link to the bottom of your post. This adds your pic to the Steemit World Map and it's building up a great resource for people to go and look at places. I particularly like the back streets and everyday pics as opposed to the normal tourist pics as it really gives a sense of where people live and work and carry on their ordinary, yet extra-ordinary lives.

Considering the number of photos posted here, it would be wonderful to see more photos added to the map, and like I say, especially of the everyday lives of the huge diversity of nationalities we have here.

A quick mention also for a few tags. When you're writing a travel post, add the #traveldigest and #travelfeed tags. They are both top class supporters and curators of travel blogs. Make them interesting and just a little out of the ordinary, and who knows, you may get a nice upvote and be featured!

Next is @partiko . Partiko is a downloadable app for your smartphone that gives you a beautifully simple, clean and rock-solid interface for Steemit. It doesn't have the most features, but it just works and I love it. The only reason I don't use it more is simply because I hate typing on my phone and tablet!

It looks like they've also introduced a points system to encourage users. Please go to play store and give it a try and a great review. I believe this has been an independent effort without the help of the huge delegations that some devs. seem to get, and talking of independents......

@eroche has just launched a fantastic app called 'Let's Eat'. Again without the aid of huge delegation, this App is yet another real-world application running on the Steemit blockchain. It's useful, useful is good!

It shows all your local eateries and gives you chance to review them and post photos. It's another very clean interface and simple to use. Very important when we should be aiming for the widest demographic adoption as possible. The wife and I have our work cut out as living in Thailand, there were thousands of places came up within a stone's throw of our house, including our next door neighbour but one. Sadly she won't be getting a review as her noodles are rank!

Thats another friend of mine at the bottom, Kiky, who makes awesome Crepes.....Thai style lol ;-)

And mate, love the App, but hate the colour scheme! That's just me!

Again, like Steemit World Map, another fantastic resource for us to use.

OK, finally, a quick mention for a great chrome extension I use, @steem-plus . Steemplus adds all the features and info that you could ever want. It shows you how much someone's vote is worth, your exact reputation, it can even filter the spam transactions in your wallet and tell you who the bots are! It does a million things and is fully customizable.

The Steem blockchain has a huge suite of social media apps running on it. I must, of course mention @dlive @dtube Steepshot and Zappl, even @dmania . The tools are out there people for us to turn the Steem blockchain into the next generation of social media. Independent, transparent and rewarded.

Thanks to loads of amazing people creating wonderful apps, we have all this cool stuff to share, play with each other and engage. This communication between our massively diverse community should be teaching us understanding, compassion and respect.

Please. Use the tools, learn the lesson, quit with the greed.

I know there are numerous other apps and tools out there I haven't mentioned but you're still appreciated and I didn't want this to become a full out list of apps. No one reads my shit anyway, so you won't be missing out on loads of extra publicity!
