It’s Always a Good Time to Say Thank You!
Each year around Thanksgiving I find myself wondering why in western culture we don’t say “thank you” more often. After all, it has such benefits like the instant dopamine high for the giver, receiver and anyone who witnesses the expressed gratitude. Gratitude also has the lasting effect of reminding us of the inherent goodness in life countering some of the media messages to the contrary.
More and more these days I’m reminded of how much this platform and all you of you mean to me and I’d like to take a moment to acknowledge this.

Thank you to all of you Steemians for the time, heart and great work you offer here. Together we’ve all created a lasting community with meaningful connections and it gives so much to all of us.
I know for me, Steemit has earned a place in my life that far transcends my initial attraction to the monetary rewards. Yes earning is great - I welcome it and need it - but what has kept me coming back grew over time.
And together the content and connection produces a knowing that I’m a part of something meaningful with >repercussions that are much larger than the sum of the parts.
On one hand that act of producing content for my Steemit blog offers me a necessary creative catalyst, and on the other it offers meaningful engagement with other creatives and people I might not otherwise get to know. My week doesn’t feel right if I didn’t spend enough time curating - I need to know what all of you are up to! Nor does it feel right if I don’t post at least once. And together the content and connection produces a knowing that I’m a part of something meaningful with repercussions that are much larger than the sum of the parts.
After stepping away from Steemit over the summer, I have had to again to find my reasons to return and even more importantly to stay. After a few months of dabbling I have been pulled in by the magnetism of this platform and have a renewed perspective about why I need to be here.
So thank you for doing this thing with me and with each other and for all that you give of yourself; this forum couldn’t exist without the time and effort you give all week long!

Needing Thanksgiving to be reminded that you need to be thankful is like needing Valentine's Day to remember to be thoughtful to your significant other. It should be something that's an all year sort of thing. I guess that it's at least a starting point. It's just important not to let it be the end

Here's a wish for all of us from the Dalai Lama:
My wish is that, one day, formal education will pay attention to the education of the heart, teaching love, compassion, justice, forgiveness, mindfulness, tolerance and peace.
This education is necessary, from kindergarten to secondary schools and universities. I mean social, emotional and ethical learning. We need a worldwide initiative for educating heart and mind in this modern age

OF course our timing was always just a bit off to connect IRL, but I also feel that life gives you things in the order in which it best serves you and our IRL time is goning to happen at the right moment, I can feel it :)
There is so much promise from this platform BECAUSE of people like you and so many other wonderful artists and creatives. I really believe we are in a time of a new artists Renaissance with the digital world connecting us all, giving us new tools to use to create and connect. It is an exciting time to be a creative!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I certainly did, despite my not even wanting to have one here in England, but my friend insisted and of course in the end, she was right and we had a lovely time! Again, sometimes Life knows Better ;)

I too feel the percolating of the creative renaissance that technology is providing, there's so much promise technically, but also in terms of a paradigm shift towards valuing and compensating creatives and creativity.
I say this back to you - this platform is exactly great because of you and others like you!! you give so much here and it blows me away. I am honored and heartened every time I check on your blog.
I am glad we've connected and excited for whatever form this takes as we go on with life! btw, who knows what will actually happen, but a UK trip is looking more and more probable. It will be only a week but you'll be on my priority list ;-))
