You did your research on this one. Excellent information to be sure. Although being high on Alexa ratings is no doubt important, I think that making the site easier for newbies (registration, navigation, education, etc) will ultimately be more important. The first month or two here can be very frustrating, which most, I fear, won't work through.
Really interesting article. You're obviously an expert on SEO.
However if the aim of Steemit and Crypto in general is to replace these centralised tech giants who are taking away our freedom and monetising us, then shouldn't we be looking to replace Alexa?
Where we are going we don't need Google...

Maybe steemit is banned, maybe competition filed an abuse report?
I think alexa ranking must take seriously if we wanted to become a top 1 in search engine.
Top 1 will be hard to reach, but top 500 is realistic.
Google is top 1, facebook top 2. If we have steem search engine where user will rewarded searching, top 1 is possible.
I'm sorry to disappoint you, but that's not possible, but top 500 is realistic and nice!

The Alexa Rank is not that dominant, but it's a trait we should keep an eye on.
