ich möchte heute mal meine Erfahrung und Wahrnehmung zu bid bots darstellen und das möglichst aus verschiedenen Perspektiven, einfach und verständlich.
today i wanna picture my experiences and perception of bid bots and in the best possible way from different perspectives, simple and understandable.
Was sind bid bots?
What are bid bots?
bid = Gebot von SBD und bot = Roboter. Es sind praktisch Skripte oder Programme die von einem Steemian erstellt wurden um damit Geld (SBD, STEEM) einzutreiben und als Gegenleistung dafür eine Stimme (vote) mit seiner Steem Power (SP) abzugeben für einen bestimmten Artikel und die Auszahlung und Reputation damit nach oben zu treiben. Das Prinzip ist eine Mischung aus Glücksspiel und Taktik.
bid = bid of SBD and bot = robot. Basically that are scripts or programs which were developed by a Steemian to get money (SBD, STEEM) and give a vote with his Steem Power (SP) in return for a certain post to pump up rewards and reputation. The principle is a mixture of gambling and tactics.

How it works?
Der Ablauf ist über Zeitfenster von Bieterrunden geregelt, z. B. 2,4h. Ein Bieter entscheidet in einer Runde wann und wieviel er an den bot per Geldbörse (Wallet) überweist. Das wieviel? entscheidet darüber welchen Anteil er von der bot-Stimme (vote) bekommt und das wann? wann sein Gebot für andere Bieter oder potenzielle Bieter sichtbar wird.
The sequence works with a time frame and bidder rounds, 2.4 hours for example. A bidder decides in a certain round when and how much he transfers to the bot via his wallet. The how much? decides which stake he gets on the bot-vote and the when? when his bid will be visible for other bidders or potential bidders.
Stell Dir vor es gibt 3 Bieter A, B und C und alle überweisen 1 SBD an den bot:
Imagine there are 3 bidders A, B and C and they all transfer 1 SBD to the bot:
Nehmen wir an der bot hat einen Stimmwert (voting value) von 48 SBD nach der Bieterrunde, dann würde jeder Bieter theoretisch 33,33% der Stimme im Wert von 16 SBD bekommen. Alle freuen sich schon auf das Ende der Runde.. aber dann kommt ein 4. Bieter Sekunden vor Schluss der Bieterrunde und sendet 35 SBD! an den bot..
We assume the bot has a voting value of 48 SBD after the bidders round, then every bidder would get 33.33% theoretically with a value of 16 SBD. Everyone is happy now and can hardly wait for the end of the round.. but then the 4. bidder arrives.. seconds before end of bidders round and he sends 35 SBD! to the bot..
Dieser hat damit nun einen Anteil von über 92% und bekommt dafür ca. 44 SBD von der bot-Stimme. Die restlichen Bieter gehen mit 1,33 SBD aus der Runde.
He has now a stake of 92% and gets 44 SBD from the bot vote. The rest of the bidders left with 1.33 SBD in this round.
Wer gewinnt am Ende?
Who wins in the end?
Es gibt nur 2:
- der Wal (der den bot betreibt) weil er Bares von den Bietern überwiesen bekommt und dafür nur seine virtuelle Stimme aus dem Belohnungspool abgibt
- der andere Wal (der clever in der letzten Sekunde mit riesigen Summen bietet) weil er genau das Verhältnis aus Einsatz und Gewinn kennt und wie eine Katze vor dem Kanarienvogelkäfig wartet um zuzuschlagen in der jeweiligen Bieterrunde
There are only 2:
- the whale (which is running the bot) because he gets cash from the bidders for just a virtual vote out of the reward pool of Steemit
- the other whale (who is clever enough to vote in the last second with huge amounts of SBD) because he knows exactly the relation between bid and earnings and is waiting like a cat before the cage of a canarian to strike in the respective bidder round

Further implications of these mechanisms
- Es gibt immer viele die in jeder Bieterrunde verlieren, verärgert, mit dem Gefühl betrogen worden zu sein. Insbesondere neue Steemians werden über den Tisch gezogen, die mit ihren hart verdienten SBD für Artikel bezahlen. Dieses Gefühl tragen sie auch nach aussen in Form von Artikeln und Mund-zu-Mund.
- Der Belohnungspool aus dem die Zahlungen für Artikel kommen, wird geplündert bei massivem bot-Einsatz. Es bleibt weniger für alle anderen.
- Reputation wird künstlich aufgepumpt und repräsentiert nicht den wahren Wert von Artikeln oder Leistung. Das erzeugt Veehrer innerhalb der Community welche blind einem anderen Steemian mit hoher Reputation folgen, ohne zu hinterfragen woher diese Reputation kommt.
- Die riesigen Auszahlungen unter gepumpten Artikeln verzerren die öffentliche Sicht und ziehen Leute an welche das schnelle Geld machen wollen und dann feststellen das hier nichts zu holen ist und machen Steemit anschließend schlecht.
- There are always many loosers left behind in each bidder round, feeling betrayed. Especially new Steemians are wiped out because they just try with their hard earned posting rewards. They channelling these feelings within in their posts and mouth-to-mouth
- The reward pool for payouts gets plundered with massive bid bot usage. There is less for the rest of the community.
- Reputation is artificially pumped up and is not representing true value of posts or performance. That is creating devotees among the community which blindly following another Steemian with high reputation without asking where the reputation is coming from
- The massive numbers for payouts under pumped posts are distorting the public view and attract people who wanna make a quick buck but soon they recognize there is no free lunch and spreading bad word of mouth about Steemit

Letztlich hat man das Gefühl wie bei einem Hütchenspiel auf der Straße dabei zu sein, wo im Hintergrund in der Menschenmenge noch ein Taschendieb unterwegs ist. Oder um auf die drei sich freuenden Bieter A, B und C von oben zurückzukommen, es ist als ob diese rücksichtslos, ohne Vorwarnung von jemandem aus dem Haus geworfen werden.. kurz bevor die Party beginnt.. ohne Brieftaschen und der Gastgeber wartet schon auf die nächsten Gäste..
Finally there is this feeling to be part of thimblerig on the street where a thief is underway in the background among the crowd. Or to refer to the example above with the bidders A, B and C it is like if they were thrown rudely out of the house.. short before the party begins.. without wallets and the host is already waiting for new guests..
Steemit als soziale Platform?

Ist es das was uns möglichst viele neue Nutzer auf der Plattform bringt? Ich glaube nicht. Jeder kann immer selbst entscheiden ob er an den Spielchen mit bid bots teilnimmt, man muss sich nur bewusst sein, dass Steemit damit langfristig verliert aus meiner Sicht. Es gibt aktuell Leute auf der Trending page mit mehreren hundert SBD Auszahlung und in den Kommentaren liest man dann wie Leute sich beschweren, dass dieser Autor kurz vor Ende in so eine Bieterrunde mit riesigen Summen gesprungen ist.. Autoren die dann über Ehrenkodex, soziales Verhalten, Miteinander schreiben.. merkt ihr was?
Is it that what brings us many new users for the platform? I believe not. Everybody can decide to participate on the games with bid bots but you must be aware that Steemit loses with such mechanisms in the long term in my eyes. There are currently people on the Trending page with several hundreds of SBD rewards and you can read in the comments how people complain about that the author jumped in with big amounts of SBD.. authors who writing about code of honor, social behaviour, good coexistence and success in life.. you notice something?

To me the bid bots on steemit is silently killing the platform and at the same time enriching the owners of the bots and the whales who contributed to the bidbots and also manipulate the system for their selfish gain. That is why presently in steemit the whales are getting bigger with all the rewards and and extra steempower while the minnows and phantom are lossing on a daily basis in terms of rewards and growth of their account @onetin84
Yes, the same in my eyes. The manipulation comes to the surface if you have some experience on Steemit and many are not aware of the long term consequences for the whole platform because it's a slow and silent blood sucking sickness which is spreading all around. Maybe the next bull run in crypto overshadowing these facts for a while but they drain the life blood of Steemit further. And in the end there are few good and evil kings with much SP and nothing else until they leave the platform too.. indeed that is the worst scenario and i have hope we can fix it with code or the solution is Steemit 2.0 on EOS. Currently there are rumors around.
Ich meide sämtliche Bots. Und ich bewege mich im Steemit-Universum so, wie es ursprünglich gedacht war. Dabei gebe ich 0% Eigenvotes ab.
Zugegeben, beim Investyourvote mache ich mit, einfach aus Interesse an dem Konzept.
Wenn der Kurs weiter südwärts läuft, wir hier eh kaum einer reich und darum sollte es auch gar nicht vorrangig gehen. Ich betrachte Steemit weiterhin als soziales Netzwerk.

Ich nutze nur noch steemvoter um die aus meiner Sicht besten Autoren zu unterstützen, die wiederum auch Steemit voranbringen. Ansonsten nichts. Investyourvote scheint mir auch ziemlich kompliziertes Gerüst, wo ich mir die Frage stelle, wer am Ende davon profitiert.
Im Moment fehlt mir etwas die Orientierung wo die Reise mit Steemit hingeht. Vom einstigen Gründer erwarte ich keine Unterstützung mehr, da er mit EOS die nächste Stufe der Entwicklung beschreitet. Und es scheint zumindest so, dass kein gesteigertes Interesse besteht, die bisheringen Verhältnisse auf Steemit entwicklungsseitig zu ändern, zumindest habe ich keine Impulse irgendwo gesehen die sowas bestätigen. Die bot-Nutzung ist zum Standard geworden und farming und comment rotator sind überall gegenwärtig und schädigen. Dank @steemcleaners @arcange und anderen versinkt nicht alles im Chaos, aber es ist ein ständiges Kräftemessen, da die Möglichkeiten einfach immer zur Verfügung stehen und Nutzer weiter machen werden.

lol i tried many time bid bots those just killing the real money earned by people and most of the people are getting fool by them ... what i realize in bidding bod is ...
consider that i made a bid bot id , i will wait for everyone to bid the bot all bidders invest their money because they think bidders are low so they will get fully vote but in the last second before bot starts the owner will deposit 80% to destroy the bit and every individual could lose his/her money ... 😊😊

Good reminder! It is exactly the scheme i described in other words. There is always the hope, the fever for bidders but then suddendly reality hits when the real badasses start bidding at the end of each period.. wiping out all the small bidders.. it's always the same pattern but there are enough fresh people to fall into the bear trap! The social aspect is completely gone with such schemes.. but one should do this just once to notice what's going on and don't support hat b...........t!
The worst thing i mentioned there are some Steemians with really high reputation who reached that level exactly with such schemes and arguing that such behaviour is necessary to get the visibility on the trending page with absolutely common posts.. that's the attitude which cannot be just corrected by some police officers on Steemit because there is also this small invisible red line which the scammers never cross to avoid to get flagged and downvoted.. they staying in the huge gray area all the time and raping the reward pool.. sad but true.
For me the only solution is to change the code to get rid of these mechanisms and to support the police on Steemit. Greed is always a big factor in this game and indeed it needs some code of honor and some code on the blockchain to minimize such abuse.
i Am 100% Agreed with you ... but the thing is do we have already police like steemcleaners ? and cheetah bot ? but the thing is bid bot makers arent going to be stoped actually the thing is bad acts always find ways on how to get 100% benefit of that act ... Well we all hope for the betterment of steemit i hope people will agree with us and let other people hardly earned money with them to make it peaceful place ..
I'll stay always quite optimistic but i'm also a realist and he says to me "wishful thinking man!".. greed is always one of the stronger driving forces in our world and cannot be controlled by just a few rules written on paper.. they must written on the blockchain, immutable for these greedy actors in a way to support the platform not to exploit it to the last penny. Yes @cheetah and @steemcleaners are great initiatives (the latter i support with my full vote) and they are the last stand against all the obvious scammers and helped already to save Steemit.
