As every good story, this has tones of inspiration in the background. Meet the team who bravely took the venture to help and support community. With more and more small family farms reserving slot on the goodies map, the tools to pave the way to short markets and developing the networks for the consumers appear to be of key importance. A soul food and how to make it accessible and affordable for more people - this is something worth thinking over.

Farmhopping is the startup project of three friends on a quest to support sustainable farming on a global level. In return for the support that the farmers receive, they give back fresh and healthy goodies from their farms.
Rossi, Mihail and Ruslan met 8 years ago. What brought them together was their passion for climbing, traveling, skiing and the mountains. They united efforts to create a platform where sustainable farmers, nature lovers, organic food aficionados and eco-conscious citizens from around the globe could work together sharing ideas, projects, skills and funds to promote and empower a nature-friendly farming culture and collaborative consumption.

Farmhopping is a global marketplace for sustainable farms.

It is the team's initial idea to provide an opportunity and support local farms from around the world and get farm fresh goodies in return. Once you open the platform, you'll see neatly organized tabs representing the local producers who are already members of the community to be exposed by their own market place, where they set the prices and decide upon the product offerings themselves.

And...all this started with a trip in the Bulgarian mountains, when the guys found a captivating farm called Perun. Meeting the passionate owner breading the native Karakachan sheep, they were introduced to the average small producer's concern: The serious competition of the larger farms, which used unsustainable methods thus putting the smaller actors in a strain to struggle in meeting the ends.

Rossie is Risk Management expert, a London university graduate who started her career in investment banking. Once she was introduced to the idea, the team was set up, plans and drafts drawn and a solution for the farmers presented...for good. The locally grown produce is a click away. It's so easy to list all the farms and review the various products they provide, that a basket full of goods may be formed at one or a couple of them. From dairy to honey, meat and wine through healthy cosmetic products for the entire family - all is set before your very eyes. With a fixed delivery cost from each point in the country, the platform is a wallet-friendly place.

Community Supported Agriculture <3

Got it, will do!

Good luck :-)

It is a good practice supported by The America for Bulgaria Foundation, hence I believe the model is already operating successfully in the US.
Thank you for your interest! :-)

Cool beans! I'll have to check that out.

I think it's possible to forward a request to the guys using the link in the post. Hopefully, they'll refer you to the places in US you most surely have.

I absolutely love this idea!!! such a healthy mindset and global attitude!!! if we all did this - how marvelous the world would be hehehe

Couldn't agree more, dear!
Long live the natural clean food and people's wealth :-)

This sounds like a good initiative! We have nothing like that in the area where I live, only an open-air market that is available during the summertime, but it is quite a long drive away. It is good that you have such a good opportunity as this! Thanks for sharing the fascinating story! 😊

It's a good example of a community action. No local government and institutions involved. People can be very good from time to time :-)
