Clueless- First Post on Steemit and DTube

‘Clueless’

The reason I signed up to Steemit was to create video content on DTube, be part of a community and to find new content.

At the time of writing this, I barely understand how to use Steemit and DTube. The simplest of functions like creating thumbnails/snapshots for videos, title banners and inserting pictures in posts are all challenges. This is why my first DTube Video was uploaded without a thumbnail.

Now I can relate to the technological challenges faced by my parents and their generation. They often understand what a social media platform is used for however are confused by how to use its features, asking questions that I sometimes think are pretty simple. Karma is getting me back for every single eye roll, sigh or the internal disgruntled thought ‘how do you not know this by now?’

I’ll openly admit that I don’t fully understand Steem or Steem Power, I can barely explain how a blockchain works. When my friends ask me to explain the platform I take the line from the website:
‘Steemit is a social media platform where everyone gets paid for creating and curating content.’

When they ask more complicated questions I attempt to explain but usually resort to sending them a link to the website’s FAQ page :)

Luckily, I’m so intrigued and excited by the platform and the community that I shall not let my lack of understanding prevent me from using the platform. My aim is to keep consuming & creating content and read and watch as much as I can to further my knowledge and hopefully go from completely clueless to competent.
