Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 13/1/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 13/1/2019

Should you be trading with Steem today..

Last year Steem and SBD's were booming but we leave 2018 with Steem at $0.26 and as for now we may see Steem come back from its January high at $0.32 to $0.26. I was expecting a downwave from Bitcoin which I mentioned 3 days before it downwaved but I guess I should of figured the Steem-fall delay was because Steem was going to go down with the Bitcoin fall instead. Well the wave as come and hit us it's a shame as Steem fell from $0.32 to $0.25. If your a buyer this is a great opportunity to buy a little more incase next time it starts going up it wont fall back down. Bitcoin on Jan 6th was at $4075 and as now fallen to $3491 this is due to a 2nd downwave which happened today. The wave was not as big as the first but still enough to possibly push Steem to $0.24. Also remember Ned as been powering down and I believe the Steemit account is also said to have done the same possibly assisting Steem going a little cheaper. As for today Steem was actually doing pretty good we started at $0.27 it then fell a little to $0.26 but continued next onto $0.28! Steem continued to push upwards especially at ⏰09.10 but unfortunately it tripped and fell slowly, the downbump happened at ⏰16.05 taking it to $0.25. If nothing much happens in 2019 then I hope those who are in the game will take this opportunity to keep collecting Steem. But with these low prices we are still on a survival mode era of Steemit.com, Bitcoin dropped drastically forcing Steem's value to tank causing Steem-INC staff reductions and a possible threat to the website. The conclusion was to survive by cutting down costs of nodes among other strategies which will take time to implement. Right now there is a focus on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. Steemit INC said they are on track with it's cost reductions and with SMT's. If you haven't logged out of Steemit or searched the website without logging-in then you maybe have noticed Steemit.com is selectively rolling out advertisements, and its genius because it's not intrusive to people like myself, as you can log-in and you wont see the ads anymore. Also remember Bitcoin is getting closer to where we last bottomed it shouldn't go past that mark but incase it does go beyond buyers be ready for some treats and while that will be great it wont help with us surviving past this but don't get me wrong we are in a much better place prepared to go down further it's just depends how much more we go. As you may know SBD's fell from reaching $0.86 down to $0.73 very quickly, we saw there was some recovery taking it to $0.75 but then continued going downwards, now today was a little strange as we reached $0.74 but it didn't stop there, nope SBD's continued to go upwards, its peak being from not so surprising at ⏰09.45 to ⏰10.30 which saw SBD's at $0.78 we honestly expected only to see it reach $0.75 so this was nice, but from there we all know what happen with Bitcoin's fall...and so we saw SBD's at $0.71 firstly happening at ⏰18.20.
