Is there an ugly truth about steemit? Or only people that don't understand how it works...
Hi Steemians, hope everything is ok with you all! I'm new here and enjoy being around, I find steemit to be a cool platform for people to express themselves.
Although this overall positive feeling there are some things that bother me. So I look around and try to understand how it works.
I already read some posts about "How to succeed in Steemit" but find them to be all the same... I see people that are new like me but without much content, upvotes, followers and money or SP on their wallets they escalate the ratings! I sincerely wonder how they do it!
So I search and search and cannot find answers to this.

I'm wondering is steemit so transparent has it seems?
Is this really a friendly place to new people?
Is this different from the regular pattern of greed we can find in a regular capitalist society?
Do you have something to say about this and help me understand?
It's not my intention to create waves, I honestly don't believe I can do that, I'm no one here. This questions comes from a place of ignorance and confusion, I really just want to understand...

That is an old article. I don't think things are as bad now. On the bright side Steem is pretty cheap right now to buy and there is only about 7% inflation per year. My account seems to be doing ok but worst case if things go south I'll just leave the platform and maybe delegate to a bot but most likely I will stick around because even if this old article is mostly correct I think Steemit is still better than Facebook. You get nothing on Facebook.

It's just amazing to spread wealth, across the globe, however small, support great posters, discuss, and fill your feed with people you want to follow and will stimulate your mind every time you log in. You'll find some amazing development, some amazing tools that plugin to enhance your use of the site, and find that your posts work across multiple platforms.
The 'get rich quick' angle is never really worth it, but like anything you can build a following here and find your thing, that moves beyond Steemit. Of course community is here and thriving, if you look in good places.
SP delegation is something to check out. It's an amazing aspect that again, spreads wealth and really supports projects /ideas/development great and small .
Don't be put off. Life is what you make it. Steem is reflection of this, and of new capitalism, opportunity to reach people.
First I want to thank you for trying to help me understand. I'm not frustrated or anything just really want to try to understand how this works. I see here things like ratings escalating without people do almost nothing(apparently) and after all this time I'm only with a rating of 25...what is the difference? What am I doing wrong? My questions comes from a place of doubt and not from a place of trying to get rich fast. I love being here, just cannot understand somethings.

*Steemit is a transparent democratic independent, like all blockchain platforms, social network
You will start thinking very soon, how long you have been robbed by FB, I did not get a thank you from this Capitalistic Platform over the course of these years...
Here is everything totally different, exactly the opposite!!!

Keep in mind: In the beginning everything is hard, before it gets easy!
FYI: you have to read, watch materials about steemit, because many things are different here to the ones you got used to, the one thing is, it is not easy to believe that for what you have been never paid like everywhere on the old platforms, now you will be paid for the same content.
