Discord "Hack Attempt" failed, but watch your servers, People! 😲
It was a lame attempt to get into our #minnowbootcamp server, UNSUCCESSFUL, just mainly due to prior precautions I believe. Newbs on the server have limited access and he went to one of those few rooms and tried to gain administrative control of one of the bots. Got a menu, that is all. Here's the screen-shot of the 2 messages that were posted:
I was debating on whether or not to reveal the screen name used, but if you come into my house and head straight for the control center, no "Hi how are ya" or anything, I am interpreting that as ill intent. So...

Was the culprit. I'm sure the credentials will change if there is a next time, especially now that I have revealed the username. But I just wanted the Discord Operators and users to BE AWARE that it happened, and watch your settings! I actually believe I know who it is, and this was an alias anyway. Go Figure ;)

Good catch! This is one of the reasons it's so important to set permissions and privileges in Discord servers. Good on ya.

It is a sad fact of life that people will take something like #minnowbootcamp that only exists to help and support them - and try to hack the system - for what gain? At best make extra work for the people that run the server - and take away the benefit from the people who really needed it.

On another note, you should watch the discords you hang out in for such activity. Our users are color-coded and this was an entry-level (white) trying to access something possibly that might be used against the server. Users can call up the bot commands, and direct bots to do certain tasks, but when a total newb is coming in and messing around like that, I'm over it!

yeah it could have been just a lost user looking for bot help, I do have the "newb access" locked down pretty good, cuz they were coming in and trying to get Post Promo w/o registering for the main purpose, the Boot Camp! Freeloaders :P
