The 501's | A @SteemitBloggers Contest

While some are moping, getting mad, pointing fingers or just plain laying low, the Steemitbloggers are playing games .. haha. A treasure hunt to be exact. Every week, they have a contest and this time around @jaynie & @zord189 got @thekittygirl to throw in her creative idea. So she whipped up a Tresure Hunt with a Crossword Puzzle to boot.

Overview

  • Solve a crossword puzzle below. The theme is: winter
  • Unscramble the letters in the red boxes to reveal the name of a member of the SteemitBloggers commnity.
  • Go to that Steemian's blog and look for a certain post and read it. Make a note of the different things talked about.
  • Author your own Steemit post about one of the things that is mentioned in the SteemitBlogger's post. You may do a 300-word (minimum) freewrite, write a poem, draw a picture (stick figures allowed!), or take a photograph of the subject.
  • Do not reveal any of the answers when you do your post, other than including one of the things in your poem, freewrite, drawing, or photo!

The last job I had was with a Radio Station. Because radio is on 24/7 I was on my toes all day and all night. The radio would always be on in the background even at home so if it goes off air for whatever reason, I could either alert the Presenter on air or just the technicians if it was pre-recorded for the day.

During the survey period, it got even tougher. You need to make sure everything went as planned. Had to make sure the presenters didn't mess up with contests or we would have to clean up the mess. Social media was on the same page as us, so the message was going through. And in the midst of all this, there's still the meetings to discuss marketing, and on ground acitivity and on and on. Let's just say, there's a lot that goes on to make a station the prefered name to tick on your survey book.

I loved everything about radio except for the paperwork. I didn't mind being on call 24/7 either (and we were) but the reports were always a bore but it had to be done. And Fridays, would be crunch time if we didn't want to bring work home as the HOD meeting would be first thing Monday morning. Also with the weekend, we had to make sure everything that needed to be done was done, so the station wouldn't go off air and we wouldn't have to run in to fix it.

No matter, we decided there's still some fun to be had to round off the week. And so, a bunch of us introduced 501. Every Friday, 5.01pm on the dot, we would gather to have some wine, beer or whatever drink one fancied. Just to hang loose, talk about the sillines of the week, or anything.

So we were productive until 5pm and then we just got creative on how to have those drinks because there was actually a rule in the handbook about alcohol in the premise. Most times, we just invited the bosses to join us ;p

Part of the usual suspects to hang out with and come up with nonsense. You can see part of my ex-office on the left. It was a nice office, with a view and I made it very cozy since I spent a lot of my waking hours there. I had to clear the cosy by this picture because it was my last day.
