Just Wondering How Many are REAL ??
It happened on Facebook , is it happening on Steemit as well ?
Ever wondered how many of the user behind the attractive profile pictures are REAL.??
I mean who they are, any physical verification of them. Are they really look like the one who appears in the profile images.??
Well , I am not going insane neither I am pinpointing anyone, The wierd thought just cropped up going through few accounts and a little conversation in one post.
May be what they are , actually are not them.
Might it happen that a Men using a Girl profile picture or vice- versa to pull or attract users as follower or for upvotes.
Anything is possible in social networking
While I was in Facebook 2 years ago and even heard many stories recently , there were many instances of cheating , where a Male open Facebook account in name of Female and put up some attractive profile picture. Posing as female the boy befriend with other girls and boys and cheat them in many ways or even exploit them. It is very simple as in Social Networking platform we only go with the chit chat and never care about the real existence.
Haha.. Such question did not come up overnight Thanks to @stellabelle #bananaprogram tasks that i went to scroll down to welcome few new accounts on Steemit. That is a nice way to make a new joinee to feel relax and comfortable on Steemit, but while i was scrolling the #introduceyourself tag I came across many accounts which seems to be fake, not to name any it was just my assumption. Many of them are displaying some hot beautiful fairy pictures and no further details
Later, while was engaging with some user, I saw a conversation, where the user were pleading for upvote even though the author have blacklisted her/ him. That account is of a Female name however the way he / she was conversing I felt it was of Male account......Ahhhh pretty difficult to identify...may be I am wrong in my judgement. But I know such thing is possible on Social Platform.
Men will be Men no doubt with beautiful and attractive profile images anyone can fall in to those account. And by doing so they also give their precious upvotes to such fake accounts.
What your views on this, How do we identify any such fake accounts if any exists on Steem(it). And what to do with them ??
So many question to think upon. Better to have such account identified and put into bla klist , or do not allow them to use the platform. Anyway looking forward for more inputs

By definition every bot account should be a fake one as it cannot work in proof of brain environment. I have over 1300 followers but not many of them interacts with me.
They never do...@akdx but i meant to those creepy cheeter account who tend to be unreal ...how about yoy treating some obe as a girl and he come out to be men...and he introduced you to increase his follower..some sort of stuff...there were many cases happened in facebook india if you remember

Yes, there are many such characters on Facebook. In fact, they are increasing the sex ratio in India, which is already very low. 🤣🤣🤣

Simple, assume fake till proven otherwise! I think the @steem-ua should account for this in its user ranking system, like a vote for other users system to verify they are legit accounts.

Aye glad you agree thus the reason I share things that are very personal to me, you want to verify my identity just look back at some of my first works where I expose it all... then again I do video and that is hard to fake also.
I am still trying to figure out whom is in control of the random whales that vote my works, it’s not easy and I have figured it’s an effort by one or more curators to give back to creators without being directly linked to the initiative. There is value in hiding your identity in a situation like this but not when you assuming a false identity!

It’s actually part of my daily comment fun to see how much someone is willing to expose, every comment I do is very personal which will either provoke further connection or those whom are “fake” typically try smooth out the edges.

I dont know what you can do about fake accounts. Verifying that they are fake would probably come down to asking the account holder to make some sort of effort or provide some additional information to those monitoring steemit. Like a phone call or something more human.
By the way, I 'm not fake. Really.
HaHa thanks @rickellis good to get some real stuff...even people try to be fake....either they have some dirty minds to cover such things.

That pretty pic might work for an upvote or two, but I doubt that it would sustain without out any real conversation!
I do not believe as prolific as FB ( percentage wise) but Iam sure there are similar 'Fakes" going on here at Steem.

Like you said, this is inevitable on social media platforms. A fake account won’t last long though. Sooner or later real people will notice the fakes.

Well there's a tool you can use to see how many ghost / dead accounts are following you. Go to: http://www.steemspectacles.com.
@mikeycolon it not about ghost or dead...it is about how many of them showing their real identity...i.e a boy or a girl..many appears to be girl with their profile pic but behind their might be a boy

Oh my picture on here is definitely me, but i know what you're saying.
But being online,and having the ability to hide behind a computer screen, allows people to be someone they may not be every day in real life- so why not use a fake image as a profile picture. Just like on the online dating sites.

I just meant how people may use some fairy images just to pull the audience....and no one aware about its reality.. ..but pretending and presenting themselves with other os wrong what is harm in being self...
