Funny reading piece with questions for kids
If a country has a democratic government it means that the people have a say and can vote on who the leaders must be and what they must do. 'Undemocratic' means the somebody is in charge and they make all the decision themselves and do not care how the other people feel.
Mr Stingy's business is undemocratic. He does not worry about his workers and he only think about himself. He does not care what the workers want and if they are happy or not - they must just work and keep quiet.
Mr Stingy has set some rules and he expects everybody to obey them.
Here are his rules
Dress code
You may only wear clothes that reflects your salary. If you come to work with Nike sneakers and a Gucci bag which costs more than what your manager can afford, the management of the company will think that you are doing very well and that you do not need a bigger salary/increase at the end of the year.
Sick leave
A doctor's letter will not be accepted if you are sick. If you can get out of bed to go to the doctor, you are well enough to get out of bed and come to work.
Operations
This is totally banned. If you work here, you will need all you organs. You may not have anything removed. The company hired you intact, so if you remove something from yourself, it means you are breaking your contract.
Personal business
We know that all people have 'personal business' to attend to from time to time, so each worker will have 142 days in which they can do it. These days are called 'Saturday' and 'Sunday'.
Lunch break
Skinny people will have one hour lunch breaks per day. They must eat more so that they will be healthy enough to work harder. People with a normal weight will have 30 minutes to eat a healthy, balanced diet which will keep them in their healthy state. Overweight people will only get 5 minutes lunch time, because that is all the time they nee to swallow a diet pill or drink a shake.
If you are not happy with these rules, please do not tell us, you can just resign and we will find somebody else who will appreciate working here more than you do. You can keep the moaning for your family's at home.
